Paint

Paint - We have a new challenge for you at Crafts 4 Eternity. This week we are looking for anything but a card!!! I tend to make mostly cards, so this one took a bit of thought.

My designer paper is Glitz design Felicity. I liked that it had this dripping paint paper. It goes so well with my new Make It Market kit from PTI. This kit focuses on painting, with stamps that have something to do with painting.

I loved using this sentiment along with the dripping paper!

My image is Crafty Sentiments and I finished it off with some yarn.

YAY!

YAY! - It is time for another fun challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity!!! Yay!!! This week our challenge is masculine. With Father's day right around the corner, it is the perfect time for this theme.

I made an accordion card using my new Elizabeth Craft Accordion dies. This is a fantistic die! So easy to do a really great card that looks like it took hours to make.

This is what my card looks like folded flat for mailing. I used a birthday stamp set by Autumn Leaves for the hats and sentiment. I also used 2 different SU punches for the hats.

Here is the card opened.

My little guy is by our sponsor, Crafty Sentiments. I colored him and all of the images from the Autumn Leaves with Copics.

Another panel.

Front when it is flipped.

My red designer paper is Bazzill Basic's, Red Devil. The blue is Studio G.

A for Almost Christmas

A for Almost Christmas - Hi! I had the opportunity to guest design for ABC-Challenge. Their challenge is A for Almost Christmas! Perfect for this time of year! Thank you, Nikki, for inviting me! I had a lot of fun designing this card.

My DP is MME Winter Wonderland. The papers were inked with Peacock Feathers and Stormy Sky distress inks.

My image is Christmas Candy Fairy by the sponsor of this challenge, The Paper Shelter. I colored her with Copics and cut her out with a SB die. I did the faux frame technique using the Stormy Sky distress ink and the SB die. I added Stickles to the fur on her dress and slippers. I also dragged out my Spica pens for the gold on the ribbon.

My snowflake off the edge is a MS punch. The mistletoe is MD die. The flowers were in my stash and I inked the tips with the same distress inks. The pearl spray is from Hobby Lobby.

This die is a SB that I embossed and stenciled on with the peacock Feathers ink. My paper is pearled and gives off a really nice sheen.

Sweet Rocker

Sweet Rocker - Before I get started on my card, I want to share the ongoing disaster relief programs from the May tornadoes in my home town of Moore, Oklahoma.

I want to start that if you are unfamiliar with my account of that day (May 20) I have a post on my blog with my grandson's TV interview.  Here is the link to my tornado story.

The damage that day was so severe. They have done a fabulous job of clearing up the debris, but the empty land serves as a constant reminder of that day. All of the leaves and bark were stripped from all the trees in the tornado path. At least with winter, all the other trees are also bare, so it is not as obvious as it was before. LOL

My church did a Christmas event for those affected by the tornadoes. We know from past experience (this is Moore's 3rd tornado in 15 years) that when it is time to pull out Christmas decorations, these families are hit anew with the loss, so we had donations of Christmas decorations brought to our church and they were allowed to "shop" and take what they wanted. We also had new family bibles and creches that we gave out. We had planned for 150 families, but we had more than 250 families come. It was very busy and we were out of everything. All of this in an ice storm. And to think that we considered cancelling because of the weather. We are really glad that we didn't.

It is amazing how weepy myself and others still are with all of this. My daughter lost her home and still I was tearing up at some of the stories going around. I guess you just can't get used to the grief and tragedy that is in the wake of these storms.

My grandson who was in that ill-fated hall is doing great and has no lasting problems. Some children have had extensive counseling. We are very blessed.

The 2 little ones with me in the car, as we were chased down the road, also have no problems. I think they felt safer than I did.

My daughter is living in a rental house and is looking to build a new home on a different lot. I am happy, because this house will be a lot closer to us than the one that she lost. Her insurance has been very difficult, but she has a lawyer working on helping her recover more money.

Lindsay, my daughter, has had a great pouring of outreach and support. We have seen firsthand, the goodness of people. Thank you to everyone who prayed and reached out to us. I can't tell you how much it means.

Enough of that, back to my card!

This is my DT card for Creative Card Crew. Our challenge this fortnight is Sweet Treats and we are sponsored by the Scrapping Center

I thought it would be fun to do a rocker card for this challenge. I don't know if I have done one before, but I really like doing different folds. My DP is Pressed Petals, Baby Girl.

My image is Harriet, by Crafty Sentiments. I colored Harriet with Copics, added Stickles to her hairpieces and trim on her skirt. Her sucker got a coat of Diamond Glaze to make it shiny. All of my papers were inked with Vintage Photo distress inks and some pink Fran-tage.

The rocker was made with grand SB. The sprig is also a SB. The sentiment and punches for it, is SU. I added some pom pom trim along the edge.

The pink rose, I picked up at the Scrap booking convention that I attended in June. The white flowers were cut from a stem. I also used my Salmon pearl pen on it.

Thanks for visiting me!

Snow and Ice

Snow and Ice - Hello, sweet crafty friends. I am glad that you are visiting me here today.

I have my DT card for Seems a Little Sketchy today.  Here is our lovely sketch. I hope that you will join us. We still don't get many entries and with it being a fortnightly challenge, you have lots of time to get it in.

This challenge is sponsored by Crafty Sentiments. They have lots of delicious images. The one that I worked with is Snowman Song.

I colored him with Copics and had lots of fun with some great products. I used some ice flakes for the snow on the ground. The little bird's hat has some liquid pearls and the snowman's hat has some Polar White Flower Soft.

I used lots of SB dies. I used the Grand Label 4 and Grand Decorotive Lable 4 for the card base. The icecycle is a new delites SB. I not only cut, but embossed and stenciled with Broken China distress ink. Then I added some Rock Candy Stickles with it. I thought the Rock Candy is the most like real ice.

My flower is by The Girls' Paperie. My DP is MME Winter Wonderland.

Now that you have seen what I have done with the sketch, I want to see what you can make with it!

Prairie

Prairie - Today's challenge at Creative Card Crew is "The Great Outdoors." I just couldn't resist this background paper with Crafty Sentiments, Spring Amy. I think she looks like she could be a little girl from the TV series Little House on the Prairie.

Crafty Sentiments, Spring Amy was colored with Copics and cut with a SB.

DP is Paper House 100% country. All papers were inked with Vintage Photo distress inks.

The "wheat" was growing wild in the empty lot next to my house. I cut it and used a fixative so that it won't fall about over time.

Daffodil

Daffodil - Hello blogging friends. It is time for my double DT card. I love it when I can hit both of them at the same time!

The challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity is to use a super cute image. How easy is that with so many cute images out there. We are sponsored by Crafty Sentiments. They have oodles of cute images. Take a look at their's here. The prize for this challenge is 3 digi stamps.

The challenge at Alphabet Challenge Blog is D for daffodils. I love daffodils, but my very favorite flower is tulips, another spring flower! I guess I just like spring. And we have had a gorgeous spring day here in Oklahoma today. It had been cold earlier in the week, but I am hoping that the cold is behind us for this year. Not that I am complaining. We had a very mild winter.

My papers are K and Company's Meadow. Did you notice the yellow paper has daffodils? But look at the red paper, it also is covered in daffodils!

My flower is Pizzazz Aplenty's mulberry flowers. I added the coiled wire and the leave is SB and I hand shaped it with a pinching motion.

My image is Crafts and Me daffodil Spring. Isn't she cute? I love her hair with her coiled braids on the sides of her head.

I can not figure out if she is a fairy, a mermaid or just a non mythical human. The area that I colored peach, could be a bow or fairy wings, the bottom part looks like mermaid flippers to me, but I suppose it could be a skirt as well. Then we have her among the daffodils. It just don't see a mermaid  in a flower bed. What do you think?

I colored her with Copics and added a little Stickles to the butterfly in her hair, on her dress/fin and on the daffodils. I also added some liquid pearls to the pearl trim on her top and belt.

The bow was tied using my Bow Easy and the sentiment is SU; as is the 2 punches that house the sentiment. I added a few Dew Drops to the sentiment and the top of the card.
