Blue and Silver

Blue and Silver - Today's challenge at Creative Card Crew is to use blue and silver only. I thought it was going to be an easy challenge, but when it came time to execute, it was difficult.

No designer papers on this one. I stacked the blue paper then stamped a poinsettia (Stampabilities) all over it, using SU Illuminate ink. I wasn't sure how well the ink would photograph, but it did great.

My lighter paper is silver vellum.

My poinsettia is SB cut, shaped and stacked. For the center, I used a Viva Decor pearl pen. This one is silver chrome. You can get it from our sponsor, Simon Says Stamp. They have a great variety of products. Our winner will get a $20 gift voucher to their store. Check them out, so that if you win, you can have your list ready to go.

My scalloped border is a SU edgelit. It has a matching embossing folder that goes with it. I have not tried yet, but I know that I will like it.

My sentiment is also SU. It is their tiny words set. The 2 punches that I used are also SU. I added to more pearls made with my blue Viva Decor pearl pen.

Some silver ribbon complied my card.

Swan river

Swan River - Todays challenge at Creative Card Crew is to have a bird somewhere on your project. We are sponsored by the awesome Simon Says Stamp.

For this challenge, I made a center step card. These are so easy to make and so fun to recieve!

My image is a Phindy's Place image. I colored it with Copics.

I added Flower Soft to the flower box on the mill. I used a white poster paint pen to make the white bubbles/foam where the water is hitting the river. I also added some ultra fine glitter to the water.

I used more Flower Soft to make my tree a fall tree. This gives it such a nice texture.

My flower is one that I picked up at the scrapbooking convention. The flowers are made of ribbon and I thought it was just right for this fall scene.

Fall Colors

Fall Colors  - Todays challenge at Creative Card Crew is .... trees. It can be any tree for any season, but I was inspired by the changing colors and I love to make fall trees the best, when leaves become the flowers of autumn.

My Designer paper is K and Company's, Alleghany.

I tied my Bow with my Bow Easy. Then I added a stick pin.

I stamped my leaves with Distress inks - Iced Spruce, Rusty Hindge, Wild Honey, and Fired Brick.

You can get all of these Distress Inks at Simon Says Stamp, who is our sponsor for this challenge. They have some really great dies of trees in their Stamptember sale going on right now.

The stamp comes as a 2 stamp package. You just stamp in different color with the leaves until you get the color you want. The stamp set is by Sarasota Stamps.

I tried some different things before I settled on the final image.

These are the other 2 that I played with.

Christmas Carol

Christmas Carol - It is time for another fun challenge at Creative Card Crew. This fortnight we are sponsored by the fabulous Simon Says Stamp, the largest online craft store in North America!!! And they ship internationally!!

Creative Card Crews challenge is maps/sheet music/news print/script. I choose sheet music for my card. I thought is worked well with this fabulous caroling image by Stampin Up.

My sheet music DP is Color Bok's Sepia sheet music. I tore the DP using my Fiskers Tear Edger. I love this tool because without my tears go very crooked. Not a pretty sight at all. LOL

The foundation layer was distressed with my TH distress tool.

The other DP is The Paper Studio, Holiday Wonder pad. The pad has some teals in it that are really pretty.

My image is SU Christmas Carol. I stamped it with glue from The Rubber Cafe and then rubbed their fine glitter over the image. It is hard to see the sparkle from the glitter in the photo, but it is there.

The sentiment is part of the stamp set, which I stamped on the same music sheet paper, then used SU punch. I inked it with fire brick distress ink.

I finished off my card with red bakers twine and pearls that were made with a silver chrome pearl pen by Viva Decor. I love these pearl pens. I have them in several colors, but which I had them all. You can get them from Simon Says Stamp here.

Would you believe that I even finished of the inside!!!! Again the sentiment is from the same set as the main image. The hollies are also from the set. I added some evergreen distress ink on it.

Come and join us at Creative Card Crew for a chance to win the Simon Says Stamp gift voucher!

Pearls and Swirls

Pearls and Swirls -  This fortnight our challenge at Creative Card Crew is Pearls and Swirls. I have had these Inkadinkado swirly, Christmas images for several years without using them very much, so and now was my chance!

We are sponsored by Simon Says Stamp, where you can find many of the products that I used on this card.
My DP is from The Paper Studio's Holiday Wonder. I loved the teals in this paper pack.

My image is Inkadinkado's. They have a series of Christmas images with swirls. I think I bought all of them. I really like how elegant they look.

I stamped my image with The Rubber Cafe's glue and then rubbed on their Hunter's Green glitter.

Everything was inked using Ranger's winter distress inks Iced Spruce. This is my new favorite distress ink color. It just seems to go with everything.

I finished off the image with a white pearl as my tree topper.

My sentiment is also an Inkadinkado stamp. It is from another of the swirly image packs. I added a pearl that I make with my Viva Decor icy white pearl pen.

My poinsettias are made using SB poinsettia die. I cut, dry embossed, color embossed with the paper still in the die. I then shaped them using a tiny embossing tool. They were stacked and then another small pearl was added to the flower centers.

My teal diecut is made with a Marianne designs die. I also used some pearls swirls that are Want 2 Scrap's.

Aloha Ol'

Aloha Oe' - Today starts another challenge at Creative Card Crew. We are sponsored by Simon Says Stamp. Simon Says Stamp is a fabulous on line store. The have a huge assortment of crafting products. One Lucky person will win a $20 gift voucher to their shop.

Our challenge this time is to make something Song Inspired. I was inspired by Hawaiian music. The song Aloha Oe' was written by the last Hawaiian queen. It is a beautiful song.

When we were stationed in Japan, the next door neighbors were Hawaiian and would have parties where they played their ukulele. I remember one night I was taking a bath and I could hear them playing. I felt that I was floating back on the beaches of Hawaii.

My image is Saturated Canary. I colored her with Copics, then added some Stickles to her flower and lei. Our sponsor, Simon Says Stamp is a great place to get Copics and Stickles. I use a ton of Stickles. I just love it.
My flowers are recollections. I believe my swirl gemstones are also Recollections.

Come join us with your song inspired creation!

Blue

Blue - It is time for another challenge at Creative Card Crew and this time, we want to see a focus on words. The challenge is to use a sentiment as your main focus point.

For my card, I bought a 6x6 paper pack at Michael's that was in their $1 bins. As soon as I seen this package, the card started forming in my head. I used to see a lot of blue delft dishes and things, but it has been a while since I have seen any and they have a certain charm to them.

This was a simple card to make and my husband has already asked for it to give to his mother for her birthday.
I fussy cut the sentiment piece and the shape behind it. I love how they layered together. The tiny white pearls were made with my Viva Decor pearl pen which you can get from our sponsor Simon Says Stamp here. I love these pens; as I can control the size of the pearl. I also used the blue pearl pen on the blue pearls. Viva Decor pearl pens come in lots of colors. The hard part is narrowing it down.
The lace was from my stash. The flower was another cut out that was in the pack. I cut just the flower part the second time to add some layers.
A very simple, yet elegant card.

I hope that you liked my card and that you will check out all the goodies at Simon Says Stamp and join in our challenge at Creative Card Crew.

Viking Princess

Viking Princess - How do you like this little gal? Isn't she a cutie? I fell in love with her the moment I saw her and I could not resist using her.

Our challenge at Creative Card Crew was to use kraft, so I decided to try my hand at coloring on kraft. I must say that I like it. The colors react so differently to the paper.

Simon Says Stamp is our sponsor for this challenge and oh, my!!! I love to shop there. They have a huge selection of crafting supples. They have 14 pages of Prima alone. I love Prima's flowers. They are so pretty. Simon Says Stamp is also a great place to get Copic's.

My DP is K & Company's SW nature pad.

My flower is a mulberry flower that I ordered from Judy at Pizzazz Alpenty. I buy a lot of my stick pin supplies from there as well. I have become quite addicted to making stick pins. They can be so pretty with the light reflecting off them. The smaller white and peach flowers were in the wedding section at Michel's.

The little viking girl is the brain child of Krista Smith at Saturated Canary. Krista just did a big new release and Viki the Viking was one of them. She really caputured my heart.
Viki is colored with Copics. Viki was then cut with a SB die. The frame is another SB die. Image cut and DP was inked with Vintage Photo distress inks.
The ticket I won in a challenge and the butterfly was fussy cut from the K & Company DP.
Visit our sponsor Simon Says Stamp, then join our kraft challenge at Creative Card Crew.

Grateful Vintage

Grateful Vintage - It is time for another challenge at Creative Card Crew. This time we want to see vintage and are sponsored by the fabulous Simon Says Stamp. The are the worlds largest on line crafting shop. Their prices are real good too! Check them out here.

For my card I used Tim Holtz Shabby Vintage DP. It is double sided, so I only had to cut one sheet of paper.Yea!!!!

My image is SU's Apothecary, which I stamp with Ranger's Victorian velvet distress inks. It was cut with SU Framelit, inked with Tea Dye distress ink. The sentiment is also from SU's Apothecary set, stamped in black Memento. I added some springtime Flower Soft on the center of some of the flowers, then added the 3 tiny pearls.

My butterfly I made use Rosetta trim, pearl strands, beads and wire. I love how it came out.
My velvet ribbon I got in a grab bag from Michael's. I tied the bow with my Bow Easy, then I added a stick pin that I made with supplies from Pizzazz Aplenty.
My bead branch was cut from a stem.

Twitterpaitted

Twitterpaitted - Male cards are hard for me to do. I love pink and flowers and glitter. So this fortnights challenge at Creative Card Crew of masculine cards, was hard for me.

I finely sat down and thought about what would my husband like in a Valentine's card. Not what I wanted to give him, but what does he really like. Then I thought about how much he loves the outdoors and probably his all time favorite gift that I have given him was a book that made bird calls. He used to sit out on our balcony at our apartment that overlooked a wildlife preserve. He would have the book make the calls and wait for the birds to come and return the calls.

This card combines his love of birds and my homework assignment from my Copic's class, which was to color bird feathers.

My DP is Glitz Pack Afternoon Muse. Glitz paper pack and other delights to go with it are available at our Sponsor Simon Says Stamp. They are just back from CHA and are getting in loads of new stuff, so now is a great time to browse their site.
My sentiment was created by me. My husband liked to imatate some of the lines from Bambi when we first met, so he will totally get this sentiment. I punched the sentiment with my new punch from stampin up. I also punched a heart to go behind the sentiment with my Creative Memories heart punches.
My image is Designed to Delight. I colored it with Copics and fussy cut it. I framed it with Stampin Up framelits die. The punch border was a MS punch. Everything was inked with Black Soot distress inks. I used a button and twine as my only embellishment. I don't normally use kraft, but I like the rustic look of it with the twine.

Eskimo Kisses

Eskimo Kisses - The first challenge of the year at Creative Card Crew is "Snow Day." This is a nice easy challenge to ease us back to crafting after our busy holiday season.

This image made me think of my son and his wife, who are stationed in Alaska. Unfortunately Adam was deployed to Afghanistan and will not be there for his first Christmas since being stationed there. He returns in early winter in 2012, so we are all planning an Alaskan Christmas next year.

We are sponsored by the fabulous Simon Says Stamp. Simon Says Stamp has a huge stock of crafting supplies. They are our monthly sponsor and are giving a $20 gift voucher to one lucky winner.

My sketch is from Sketchy Colors. They are a site that I recently found. I really like that they have combined a color with the challenge and they give you a lot of time to do it. Their color challenge is different in that it is not a color combo that I would never use without the suggestion of their color challenge, but they are classic color combos that are really pretty together. As for this challenge is to pick one of their past color combos, I looked through all their past challenges and was delighted with each one of them. I choose the pink and turquoise.

My image is Siku and Shiya from Mo's digital pencil. I love Mo's images. The look on the faces of Mo's images are always heart warming. I view her as the Norman Rockwell of digi images.

My DP's are Wintry Christmas by Wild Rose Studio. I used some ribbon from my scrap ribbon jar and the snowflakes were punched with white and blue sugar paper, then topped with a gemstone.
