By the Sea

By the Sea - It is time for another sketch challenge at Sunday Sketch and Stamp. This challenge is sponsored by Crimson Cloud. Crimson Cloud has lots of lush inks, papers and flowers for your every crafting need.

My DP's are from one of my favorite paper pads, Afternoon Muse by Glitz. My corner die is CB.

Here is the lovely sketch that is the challenge for Sunday Sketch and Stamp. It is a good one, so I hope that you will join us for this weeks challenge.

My image is The Greeting Farms Mermaid. The was one of the first stamps that I bought I first started coloring with Copics. She is so easy and simple to color with her big open areas. I hand drew her rock. After she was colored, I added gemstones to her hair.

I used 2 different glitters on her. The glitter that is in the water, is MS ultra fine. The glitter that is on the Mermaid is SU iridescence.

My flower was made by stamping a scenic image on white paper, then blending it with spun sugar distress ink. It was cut with a SB, then wet and shaped. The layers are held together with a brad. The green curls are formed by wrapping a wire around a thin paintbrush handle. The gemstone swirl is Recollections.

Under the Sea

Under the Sea - It is time for another great challenge at Craft Your Days Away. So what is the challenge this time? It is paper piecing. I like paper piecing, but I don't do it very often.

For those who don't know how to do paper piecing; you stamp your image twice. Once on white to color on and again on your DP. You then cut out the part that you want from your DP and glue it on the white. You then color only the shading on the DP part and color the rest normally.

My DP is DCWV All Occasion.
My image is The Greetings Farm mermaid. She is one of the first images that I bought to pratice with my Copics. She is so simple for beginners, but still fun to color even now. She is colored with Copic's and I added Stickle to the ruffle on her fins and gemstones to her hair.
The cute little turtle and fish are CB dies that have a matching embossing folder.
My punch is MS and I added a stick pin to the ribbon. I have been making a lot of stick pins lately. I just participated in a stick pin swap at CDAC. It has been so much fun and I can't wait to get my pins in the mail. We will be starting another swap soon, so if you would like to join us. Sign up at CDAC and look under All Gallery's. It is free to join CDAC and there is a lot to do there.
We are all hoping that you will join us at Craft Your Days Away in our paper piecing challenge which is sponsored by One Stop Card Crafts. But even if you don't play along, you have to see the bendy card that my team mate Donna made. The design is quite unique and very beautiful.

Let's Hang Out!

Let's Hang Out! - Hi everyone! Today the challenge at Craft Your Days Away is summertime and our sponsor is the wonderful Simon Say Stamp. They have lots of rubber stamps to include The Greeting Farm and Magnolia. The carry a wide range of crafting products that will delight crafters of all levels and skills.

My DP is Heidi Swapp. It is double sided, so 2 of the patterns were from the same sheet of paper. The DP with the purple and orange is Miss Elizabeth.

I used teardrops that are Recollections and made the rosettes quilling a spiril. They were then coated with Matte Accents. They are a little milky as I photographed them before they had completly dried. My tiny pearls were made using my Viva Deco Pearl pen.

My image is The Greeting Farms mermaid. This is one of the first stamps that I bought when I first started working with Copic's. I was on vacation with my son, his wife and my male grandchildren. Everyone wanted to color this mermaid, even though I had also bought a stamp of a boy on a skateboard. I used glue from The Rubber Cafe on her, then used a lot of fine glitter to make her fins and shells sparkle. I also added some Viva Decor pearls in her hair.
Summertime is a fun challenge to do, so I hope you will join in the fun with us at Craft Your Days Away.
