Peaceful

Peaceful - It is time for a new challenge at The Sweet Pea Stampers!! This fortnight we are making sympathy projects.

My DP are Teresa Collins, Stationery Noted pad

I used this beautiful Sweet Pea image, that is by Katerina Koukiotis, called Easter Blessing. I love when you can take an image designed to be for an occasion and make it for another occasion. Isn't this sweet angel just beautiful? I love the serenity on her face.

I colored her with Copics and added some Stickles to the clouds, her wings and flowers in her hair. She is available in digi at Sweet Pea Stamps.

I tied the ribbon with my Bow Easy and then added a stick pin from a swap that participated in.

My finishing touch was 3 red pearls.

Hallowed witch - We are looking for your Halloween projects this fortnight at The Sweet Pea Stampers.

My image is a Sweet Pea stamp that has been discontinued. I love this image, but don't lose out on getting your favorite images. Check out the Sweet Pea Stamps and select your "Got to Have" images now!

I colored her with Copics and added lots of Stickles to her dress and hat.

My sentiment is from Digi's With Attitude, but they are no longer around. This seems to be the card, that everything is discontinued on.

The purple sentiment is SU. I hope that one is still around, but it may not be.

I finished off the card with some sparkly bats, a tulle bow and a stick pen.

Torn Pastels

Torn Pastels - It is time for another challenge at The Sweet Pea Stampers!!! This fortnight we are looking for torn edges. You don't have to use a Sweet Pea image to play along with us, but we not only have a prize for anyone who plays, but we have an extra prize for a Sweet Pea user.

I have used Ching-Chou Kuik's Spring Luna in rubber and  it is also available in digi.

I few weeks ago, I colored this same image in red and gold. To see how different they look, click here.

She is colored with Copics and I used a lot of Stickles!! I love sparkle.

My flowers are stamped with an embossing powder that has a sheen to it. The camera did not pick it up, but it is really pretty in real life.

The stamps and die is HC. I used used a CL die for the swirly vine.

Luna

Luna - It is time for a new challenge at The Sweet Pea Stampers and this fortnight our challenge is layers!!! Such a great challenge to show off the beautiful images of Sweet Pea Stamps!

Using Ching-Chou Kuik's Spring Luna in rubber and also available in digi. I colored Luna with Copics. This time I left the cap on my Stickles and glitters. The gold had such a nice metallic look and I wanted that to show.

My flowers are Heartfelt Creations. I used some Viva's Inca Gold on the flowers, then after shaping them, I brushed on some Moss 3 D stamp paint. I love the sparkle in them. Viva Docore makes some beautiful products. They are always so gorgeous. I used some Gala Glitz in gold in the centers. What I like about the Gala Glitz is that it has several shades and sizes of the chunky glitter.

My Designer papers are BoBunny's Silver and Gold Collection. I spiraled some red wire around a paintbrush to add a little of the red color to the flower sprays.

I also used some gold metallic Washi tape to the card.

Here is a side view so you can see all of the dimension in the layers.

Pink Angel

Pink Angel - A new fortnight and a new challenge at The Sweet Pea Stampers. This fortnight we are challenging you to emboss, wet or dry. I was so excited about this challenge that I did both!!!

I have done this image before in white and deep red and I loved how it came out, but when I seen that many challenges out were to use pinks and burgundy, I thought how beautiful this image would be in those colors. You can see my white and red creation here.

I dug around in my scrap drawer for this paper. I thought it would be perfect for my pink and burgundy card. I dry embossed the paper with a snowflake folder.

Using Sweet Pea Stamps digi image Angel of Christmas Stars. Also available in rubber.

I colored this breathtaking image with Copics and added some clear Wink of Stella to the wings and some white Wink of Stella to the snow-globe and some of the decorative elements on her dress. Then I Fran-taged it.

My snowflake is made of several SB and a Crystal brad.

My sentiment is Inkadinkadoo and 3 burgundy pearls.

Seahorse Illusion

Seahorse Illusion - It is time for a new challenge at The Sweet Pea Stampers. Our challenge is Thinking of You/Missing You/Just Because.

My DP is Authentique's Renew. I love the yellow with the aqua colors.

Using Ching Chou Kuik's Seahorse Illusion available in digi and rubber.

I colored this sweet image with Copic's. I used a glitter pen to add some touches to her hair and the sea plants.

I added some fine glitter to the seahorse. I had a helper in my 3 year old grandson. He was so sweet; I let him sprinkle the glitter on and he told me "I like making cards with you." He really made me feel good.

I used a CL die for the vine, a HC die and stamp for the flowers. The 3 year old added the Flower Soft to the center of the flowers and more glitter to the flowers. I made the stick pin and used a Bow Easy to tie the ribbon.

Journal

Journal - Time for a new challenge at The Sweet Pea Stampers!!! Our challenge this time is Fairies. Sweet Pea Stamps have lots of Fairies, so go and take a peek. You won't be disappointed.

For my project, I have made a journal. I just finished with Camp Dorothy, which is a Christ centered program for children who are tornado survivors. The children in that camp needed journals, so we all made them on the first day of the camp. This one is mine.

Many of you may know that my town of Moore Oklahoma was hit by an F-5 tornado last year. Hitting 2 elementary school during school hours. My own grandson, was in the hallway with 7 children who did not survive.

My image is Sweet Peas Birdy Lobe by Regan Kubecek  in Rubber and digi. I have colored this sweet image with Copics.

I spent hours punching butterflies for the camp. I cut up a gemstone swirl and used them as the flight trail for my butterflies.

Tip** I cut my gemstone swirls a lot. They are so pricey to buy and you really don't need all of the swirl. It can overwhelm a card.

**Another Tip** Use Modge Podge sparingly on thin paper, so you don't get the pucker in the paper that I got. After doing 120 journals, several others and myself learned that from experience!

The DP is from a block, that I long ago lost the cover to, so I am unsure of who made the paper.

I added more butterflies and used the punch around the page set by MS and added more gemstones to it.

I used a rose ribbon along the side.

The kids enjoyed making the journals and with them decorated, they will keep hopefully look back at their notes. I had them write their scriptures on the various pages. I hope that it will give them comfort.

Ancient One

Ancient One - Time for a new challenge at The Sweet Pea Stampers!!! This fortnights challenge is masculine. Masculine cards can be a challenge but, Sweet Pea Stamps has some of my favorite for images for this challenge.

Using Joanna Schempp Ancient One in Digi and Rubber. I colored this old pirate with Copics and cut in some erregular angles. The image was just a blast to color. I took a class where we talked about how old skin is different from young skin. I am pleased with how the image came out.

This digi image is one of my favorites from Delicious Doodles. I can't tell you how many times I have used it. Sweet Pea used to have it in stamp form, but is no longer carrying it. Most children who come through my house, leave with it. My daughter takes in foster children, so we have lots of fresh kids to make it with. I have them tear it, then crumple it several times over. Then they work distress inks into it. Simple enough for even a 3 year old and they have quite the look of accomplishment on their faces when they are through. It becomes a treasure that they take with them when they leave.

DP is Teresa Collins, World Traveler. I thought the title of the paper was perfect for this old pirate. I finsihed the card off with 3 tiny green pearls.

Nautical

Nautical - It is time for a new challenge at The Sweet Pea Stampers. This fortnight's challenge is a photo inspiration.

Here is our photo for your inspiration.

For my card, I went with a nautical theme. This card uses the fold that a lady's son came home with a magic trick, but she was so curious about the folds, that she created this fold for card makers. I tried to find the tutorial that I used, but I could not even remember her name, much less her blog. Her directions were very easy to follow.

My image is Spring Nocturne ©ching chou kuik by Sweet Pea Stamps. I used the digi, but she is also available in rubber. She is a gorgeous image and so fun to color with my Copics.

Here is a close up of the different flowers that I used on the front panel.

I used a MS punch for the Wings on the inner panels.

This inner panel uses only the design paper, which is Authentique's, Anchored.

Here is the card opened.

The top inner panel uses a SB die, which I cut in red and navy and altered them on top of each other. My sentiment is by The Paper Company.

I finished off my card with some tiny gemstones under the sentiment and a row bling a the bottom.
