Let it Shine!

Let it Shine - Time for a new sketch challenge at Seems a Little Sketchy. This challenge is sponsored by Delicious Doodles.

Here is our sketch for this fortnight.

This image is Christmas Lantern by our sponsor, Delicious Doodles. I colored it with Copics and I resisted the Stickles on this one. The image is so pretty, that I wanted it to stand alone and let it's own "light" shine.

My papers are Old World Winter by The Paper Studio. I inked the edges with Walnut Stain distress inks.

My sentiment is Paper, Trey, Ink.

I used some holly leaves, a stick pin and some ribbon that I colored with my Copics.

My image is Sweet Pea Stamps
Fairy Fae by Teresa Sherman in rubber and Digi

I colored her with Copics and added some Stickles to the butterflies.

I made a banner tag with a die cute and used an eyelet flower. I used some fibers in the hole of the tag.

The butterflies are a punch and I added some Stickles to them.

My papers are Jillibean Soup, Southern Chicken Dumpling Soup.

I finished off the card with a gemstone swirl and 3 buttons with more fiber.

Mad Scientist

Mad Scientist - It is time for another challenge at Creative Card Crew. This fortnight our challenge is to use BLACK card stock. Fun, right!! So come and join us. While my card is fun and halloweenish, some of my team mates went no spooky at all. We even had one that was Christmas. How is that for creativity!

My image is Delicious Doodles, Halloweenie Crazy Chemist! Isn't he a hoot? Teri Sherman has the best Halloween images. Most are horror, but she did a lot of these, not so spooky, characters too.

I colored him with Copics, then fussy cut him and added some Diamond Glass to his chemistry tube and bottle.

My DP is K and Company's Halloween Specialty pad. I ran it through my Zutter distrezz machine to rough up the paper.

My trim is cheese cloth that was wrapped with a bumpy yarn.

The glittery bats were something that I found in a craft clearance. It did not have a label, so I have no idea as to who made it.

Beach Huts

Beach Huts - We have a real simple sketch for you this fortnight at Seems a Little Sketchy

No designer paper on this one. I let this awesome image by Teri Sherman at Delicious Doodles stand alone. I just did some simple shading with my Copics. I did use a scrap of paper for the 3 dangly parts of the sketch.

I did a simple knot and added 3 pearls to finish it off.

Come and get sketchy with us at Seems a Little Sketchy and you could win some Delicious Doodles images!

Ancient One

Ancient One - Time for a new challenge at The Sweet Pea Stampers!!! This fortnights challenge is masculine. Masculine cards can be a challenge but, Sweet Pea Stamps has some of my favorite for images for this challenge.

Using Joanna Schempp Ancient One in Digi and Rubber. I colored this old pirate with Copics and cut in some erregular angles. The image was just a blast to color. I took a class where we talked about how old skin is different from young skin. I am pleased with how the image came out.

This digi image is one of my favorites from Delicious Doodles. I can't tell you how many times I have used it. Sweet Pea used to have it in stamp form, but is no longer carrying it. Most children who come through my house, leave with it. My daughter takes in foster children, so we have lots of fresh kids to make it with. I have them tear it, then crumple it several times over. Then they work distress inks into it. Simple enough for even a 3 year old and they have quite the look of accomplishment on their faces when they are through. It becomes a treasure that they take with them when they leave.

DP is Teresa Collins, World Traveler. I thought the title of the paper was perfect for this old pirate. I finsihed the card off with 3 tiny green pearls.

Dry Dock - It is time for a new challenge at Creative Card Crew. This fortnight we are looking for nautical creations. We have 2 great prizes and I know you don't want to miss out!

My image is In the Harbour by Delicious Doodles. I colored it with Copics. I wanted to color as if it was faded and I must say that I am pleased with the result.

Designer Paper - Teresa Collins, Far and Away The "driftwood" is made using gray card stock, a wood embossing folder, White Picket Fence crackle paint and Weathered Wood distress ink.

My sentiment is SU ( in the upper left hand corner of the image.)

Eye of the Tiger

Eye of the Tiger - The new challenge at Creative Card Crew is to use a "lucky" charm in your project. We have 2 wonderful sponsors for this challenge, Delicious Doodles and Marianne Designs. Delicious Doodles is giving out 4 digi images and Marianne Designs is giving 2 die cut sets

Teri, at Delicious Doodles has these amazing images of eyes. I have been wanting to do one for ages, so I was thrilled to "need" to do one of them. The reptile eye looks like it would be really fun to do to. I could see it with some haunting highlights.

I went CAS simple using kraft cardstock with a Chicken Wire embossing folder (CB.) I tied some hemp cord and attached my orange crystal charm to it.

Winter Night

Winter Night - We have a new challenge up at Crafts 4 Eternity. Our challenge this week is a sketch challenge.

I think it is a lovely sketch. I almost did a scrapbook page with it. I think it would be a great layout for a page.

My DP's are K and Company's Julianne. This pad has such pretty blues in it.

My image is Delicious Doodles, Lycaonia. I had watched a tutorial on coloring a night scene with Sandy Allnock and this is my take on it. I love the way it came out. I though it was pretty good for a first attempt.

I finished off the card with 3 blue pearls.

Vintage Christmas

Vintage Christmas - Today's challenge at Creative Card Crew is to use a poinsettia or holly on your paper crafted item. We are sponsored by Delicious Doodles. Do you see Teri's beautiful winter image in my card?

Here is my poinsettia and holly. My Holly is MD, the blue poinsettia's are SB, and the scrolled window and back scroll are HC. My papers are The Paper Studio, Old World Winter and were inked in Brushed Corduroy distress ink.

Here is a close up of my image. Teri's image is so beautiful that I only used soft pastels to give it a hint of color, then covered it in fine glitter. It really glistens in real life. While Delicious Doodles is know for her horror images, she has some really beautiful ones as well.

Yesterday, I posted a card made with another of Teri's beautiful scenery images. That one is a penguin family.

Wonder

Wonder -  I think this card is my favorite of the season. I love the colors and the simple design.

It is difficult to do a fancy folds card using a sketch, but I think this one worked out beautifully.  This is the sketch for this fortnights challenge at Seems a Little Sketchy.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Delicious Doodles. This sweet little penguin family is one of hers. While Delicious Doodles is best know for horror images, she also has several sweet ones and her scenery images are stunning. You can check back here tomorrow to see another one of scenery images. She is also sponsoring Creative Card Crew and that challenge goes live Tuesday. I will be using her On a Winter's Day image for that.

MY DP is Recollections Blue Christmas. My sugar paper in the corners are cut with a SB.

My snowflake punch is MS. The sentiment is Hot Off the Press, punched with SU.

I finished off the card with 3 pearls.

Scary

*****Milly and Betty - if you are reading this, turn away!!!!!******

Scary - This is my card and gift for my Wednesday crop group. We exchange cards and little gifts for 4 major holidays and Halloween is one of these holidays. the ladies did their exchanges last Wednesday, but I have been out of town, so they will receive mine this Wednesday.

This is my DT project for 2 teams, Crafts 4 Eternity - Halloween, and Alphabet Challenge Blog - S for Scary.

This is a slider Easel card. Would you believe that I actually made  the designer paper? I used 2 stamps on kraft paper. Stamping the raven in black and the words, Thirty One in orange. The stamps are from Pink Paislee, Phantom.

The pull out slider was also stamped in black using stamps from the same set.

The pop-up and tag were made using digi images from Delicious Doodles, printed on kraft cardstock. She has a set of 6 different tombstones. Their are 6 ladies in the group, so each will receive a different tombstone. I backed the tombstone with cheesecloth and black card stock.

The Beware and Halloween stamp are both SU; as well as the punches to punch them out with. I added tiny black gemstones to the wings on the bats.

I finshed off the cards and tags with orange frosted pearls.

Here is all 6 cards and gifts. I tied the tags to the little treat boxes with orange raffia.

I almost forgot! After you slide the card to the easel position, I used another SU stamp and heat and stick embossing powder with some orange glitter to make the inside sentiment.

Ivy

Ivy - Here is a card for Creative Card Crew's challenge "Things with Wings." We are sponsored by Delicious Doodles. Teri is not only a great artist, but she is really sweet as well. Check out her art work. I have chosen a beautiful fairy to color, but she also has some dark images. If that is your style, you really should check them out. Her HORRORscope is really creative.

This stunning image is Ivy Fairy. I colored her with Copics and added Stickles to her wings.

My Dies are exclusive to Heartfelt Creations. Aren't they gorgeous? The green is actually a window frame. I just turned it on its side and only showed the top and right side of it.

The black scroll is for their lamp post set. I love the scrolls in this set.

My DP is Kaiser Craft Chapter one. I love turquoises in this pad.

The dots are part of the paper pad and I added Peridot gemstones.

My sentiment, ink, and punch are all SU.
