Techniques Book

Techniques Book - Today's challenge at One Stop Craft Challenge is flowers. We are sponsored by Bearly Mine.

I crop with a group of friends every Wednesday and we made these technique books, to hold some samples of some techniques that we were interested in.

Milly made the book covers and then we each decorated our own books.

I used some precolored digi stamps by Bearly Mine for my book All I did was print them out, cut them, shape them and stack them using a flocked brad to hold them together. I can get this Bearly Mine freebie here.

When I look at this photo, I see a busy mess; but in real life, it is more defined.

Besides the flowers, I used some colored wire that I coiled. Some black leaves that were cut with a SB and then shaped. I also added a bit of black tulle, a black bow and a brown stick pin. I really enjoy making stick pins and love using them.

Milly printed out the words and even inked them for us. Isn't she the best friend ever?

I added a Recollections gemstone swirl.

I added a bunch of ribbons and yarn to the rings.

This is the inside of the books. You can pull the pages out of the pockets. Milly has some techniques in her technique book, but I had missed going the previous week, when everyone else put their books together.

Vintage and Bling

Vintage and Bling - This week at Crafts 4 Eternity we have a color challenge for you this week. We are sponsored by Stamping All Day.

Here is the color chart for this challenge. I like all the neutrals with the pink.

My designer paper is Prima's London Market. The paper was distressed with Tea Dye distress inks.

My image is Crafts and Me and I colored it with Copics. I am disappointed with my close up photo of the image. The light really bleached the colors. You can see from the other photos, the difference in the colors.

I am thrilled with my skin tone. I have been trying to color Ethnic skin without much success and I love how it came out.

I used some tattered ribbon rose and added some Victorian Velvet to it.

I also used a gemstone swirl. I cut it to make it the size that I wanted.

I also used some lace and seem binding, that was weaved in a gemstone slider.

Disney 2012

Disney 2012 - Today's challenge at Creative Card Crew is Bling!!! We are sponsored by the Scrapping Center. They have an awesome array of crafty goodness.

For my bling project, I made a scrap book page. In October, we took our 5 grandchildren to Disney World. We had a wonderful time and now I will be spending the next 6 months scrap booking the amazing memories that we have.

My Fairy DP is Sandy Lions, Fairy Glow and Mickey Characters. The Tinkerbell was cut with my trusty Cricut machine and the Tinkerbell cartridge. I inked her with Tea Dye distress ink. I used yellow glitter paper for her dress (I bet you thought it was green,) and I added clear gemstones for the balls on her slippers.

I used more of the yellow glitter paper and the Disney font cartridge to cut the Disney logo and year.

How about this for Bling? I found this treasure at the scrap booking convention. It really sparkles in RL.

The page would not be complete with a photo of this cute little guy with his personal Tinkerbell in his hands. Disney had the kids hold out their hands, then added this special surprise. The kids were all thrilled when they looked at their picture and seen this. They took one of these for each of the 3 oldest boys.

Retro Superman

Retro Superman - Today is a new sketch challenge at Seems a Little Sketchy. Just take a look at the lovely sketch that Tess made for us this time around.

This fortnight, we have something extra going on. I uncovered some fun Superman tibits and shared them on the Seems a Little Sketchy challenge blog. If you can add an interesting tibit on your blog post, then you can enter your card a second time. Just add a * behind your name for the second entry and we will know to look for your tidbit.

We are sponsored by Kenny K Downloads and this is the image that sparked our Superhero interest.

I colored Superhero with Copics and then added some gears using a stamp from Hot Off the Press and some dark brown ink.

Copics used - R 37, 35, 32, 30 E 000, 00, 02, 89, 87, 84, 81 YR 24, Y21
My DP is Tim Holtz Retro paper pad.

I used another Hot off the Press stamp and embossed it. I added a little bit of Tea Dye distress ink on my papers and sentiment. My sentiment was punched with a SU punch and then used a matching metal plate with a couple of small brads. After all, Superman is the man of steel.

My star punch is MS.

Watering Can

Watering Can - It is time for a new challenge at One Stop Craft Challenge. The challenge this week is buttons and bows. I like this challenge.

My DP is K and Company, Nature. I really like the subtle butterflies in this paper. I finally used my SB basic Lattice die . I thought it was perfect for this garden theme card.

My image is Watering can Daisies by Pattie's Creations, who is our sponsor for this challenge. I colored it with Copics.

My bow was tied with my Bow Easy.

Under the Sea

Under the Sea - This week's challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity is to use 3 or more papers and the challenge at Alphabet Challenge Blog is F for fantasy.

Sassy Designs Studio is the sponsor for Crafts 4 Eternity and I thought it would be the perfect time to use this stunning mermaid by Sassy Designs Studio. Isn't she gorgeous?

I colored  Pirates Mermaid wiht Copics and added lots of Star Dust Stickles to her tail.

My papers are Pressed Petals, Baby Boy. I ran all of the papers through my Zutter Distrezz machine. It is such a quick way to add some oomph to your papers.

The whispy seagrass is SB. The smaller one is a glitter paper, but the sparkle is not showing up with the camera.

I finished off my card with 3 Dew Drops.

Shopping Our Stash #98 Bargain Bin-would you believe that I got the designer paper from Tuesday Morning, a bargain bin store. I love to rummage through their crafts. I have found lots of treasures there.

Benched

Benched - It is my teams turn at Sunday Sketch and Stamp. We are sponsored by Bugaboo, who gave us an image to play with.

My DP is Recollections Jolly Holiday.

Here is our sketch. We have a simple one to work with this week.

My image is colored with Copics and I used Stickles on the snow flakes, hat trim on the smaller penquin and  around the image. I used flower soft on the snow at the bottom and on the bench.

My sentiment is SU and I used the ticket punch to punch it out with.

My bow was tied with my Bow Easy and I added a button and charm to bow. I also used some baker's twine.
