No Mornings, Please

No Mornings, Please - This fortnight at Creative Card Crew, we are challenging everyone to make us laugh. We are sponsored by the delightful Bugaboo Stamps. I love their images. They are home to Stella and Gus, who are an old couple who are always snapping at each other. And that is just one of their characters.

I chose Crabby Cathy to work with and if you know me, you know that I am not a morning person. I am slow going and only half awake for about the first hour. Now at night, I am at my best. Luckily for our children, my husband is a morning person and my, what a crap he is at night. He always drove the kids to morning events and I had the late night pick-ups. It worked for us. LOL

Now back to my card. My DP is My Mind's Eye Twinkle, little star. I bought it to make my grandson's baby album, but I have also enjoyed the soft blues and dark browns for other things as well.

My Rosetta is a Sizzix die. After cutting and folding it, I added a brown wire that I wrapped around a paintbrush to spiral. I also played around with a ribbon until I was happy with it.
This is the sentiment that comes with the Bugaboo image.
Here is Crabby Cathy colored with Copic's. Don't you just love her bushy hair?

Punchy Duck

Punchy Duck - Ah oh! Duncan is getting rained on, but he doesn't mind. Just look at his fun umbrella. I wish I had an umbrella that made such a fashion statement.
My design papers and twill ribbon are from Autumn Leaves, foof-a-la Summer page kit. I really like the paper, but unfortunately very little of it shows. The DP was inked with brick red distress inks. As was the image. I used a MS punch around the page set.
Here is a close-up of Sew Many Cards, Duncan. He is colored with Copic's. I used Judykins Diamond Glaze, then poured an ultra fine glitter on the rain and puddle. Next time I will make sure that I have a thinner layer of Diamond Glaze. But it would have been perfect if I had been trying to get the puddle to look frozen.
My flowers are a stem that I cut off and tied with a narrow ribbon.
The challenge at Sew Many Challenges is Punches, do come on and get punchy with us.

Just for Fun

Just for Fun - The challenge at Alphabet Challenge Blog this fortnight is B for Bugs. I made this clean and simple card for it.

I used a MS punch to make the bottom border. I then added this pearlized designer paper. It is double sided, so I used the solid on the inside of the card; as I wanted it to show through the punched area. The flowered side I used on the front.
My sentiment and dragonfly image are from the same Stampendous set. I used my purple Spica pen on the heart shaped antenna.

I was recently inspired to use my chalks, so I drug then out from there hiding place and chalked the color on the dragonfly. I then added gemstones to the dots on the image to give it some bling.
I hope I have inspired you to join us at Alphabet Challenge Blog and show us your bugs!

I am entering my buggy card in the following challenges:

Owl Thanks

Owl Thanks - We are back for another challenge at Sew Many Challenges. Don't you just love that name Sew Many Challenges? It is the challenge site for Sew Many Cards digi images. Angela is the creative artist behind the images.

For my card, I used Stampin up's paper. I tried to find the name of the paper, but it is not on the package. I roughed up all the paper with my Tim Holtz distressing tool. I also inked the DP with Tea Dye distress ink prior to using the distressing tool. I used a MS punch for the blue border and I used stampin ups fancy label punch for the tabs. I also roughed up the tabs a little then added 2 flower brads.
My "leaves" are feathers that came in this Olive color. My flower is a stem that I plucked and added a rose to the center.

My image is Sew Many Cards Oliver. I have done him quite a few times, but I love this image so much that I just keep using him. My favorite was when I colored him as a snow owl.

Our challenge for this week at Sew Many Challenges is 2 designers paper plus 4 gems. I had finished my card and had completely forgotten the gemstone, so I had to go back and add them. LOL Sometimes I just so into my project and creating, that I forget all about the challenge that I am making it for. I am just glad that this was one that I could easily add the challenge component. I have had to make a completely new project a few times.

Whispers of Love

Whispers of Love - Good Morning crafty friends! Today starts another challenge at Seems a Little Sketchy. Just take a look at this challenges yummy sketch. Isn't it a great one?

For my DP I chose Glitz Pack Afternoon Muse. I love the soft colors in this palette.

My image is Saturated Canary. I just love Krista's images. They are such beauty's. I colored her with Copics and I added Stickles only on the dove's heart and on her buttons.

I cut the image with my new Stampin Up framelits using the hang off method. I then popped it up on dimensionals.

My brads are Stampin up also. My flower is a piece of ribbon trim. I have really gotten into stick pins lately and this in one of my creations. I get a lot of my bead supplies from Pizzazz Aplenty. Judy runs it and she is just wonderful. Her prices are dirt cheap and she does ship internationally.

Our sketch is sponsored by Di's Digi Doodles and The Robyn's Nest.

Under the Sea

Under the Sea - It is time for another great challenge at Craft Your Days Away. So what is the challenge this time? It is paper piecing. I like paper piecing, but I don't do it very often.

For those who don't know how to do paper piecing; you stamp your image twice. Once on white to color on and again on your DP. You then cut out the part that you want from your DP and glue it on the white. You then color only the shading on the DP part and color the rest normally.

My DP is DCWV All Occasion.
My image is The Greetings Farm mermaid. She is one of the first images that I bought to pratice with my Copics. She is so simple for beginners, but still fun to color even now. She is colored with Copic's and I added Stickle to the ruffle on her fins and gemstones to her hair.
The cute little turtle and fish are CB dies that have a matching embossing folder.
My punch is MS and I added a stick pin to the ribbon. I have been making a lot of stick pins lately. I just participated in a stick pin swap at CDAC. It has been so much fun and I can't wait to get my pins in the mail. We will be starting another swap soon, so if you would like to join us. Sign up at CDAC and look under All Gallery's. It is free to join CDAC and there is a lot to do there.
We are all hoping that you will join us at Craft Your Days Away in our paper piecing challenge which is sponsored by One Stop Card Crafts. But even if you don't play along, you have to see the bendy card that my team mate Donna made. The design is quite unique and very beautiful.

Twitterpaitted

Twitterpaitted - Male cards are hard for me to do. I love pink and flowers and glitter. So this fortnights challenge at Creative Card Crew of masculine cards, was hard for me.

I finely sat down and thought about what would my husband like in a Valentine's card. Not what I wanted to give him, but what does he really like. Then I thought about how much he loves the outdoors and probably his all time favorite gift that I have given him was a book that made bird calls. He used to sit out on our balcony at our apartment that overlooked a wildlife preserve. He would have the book make the calls and wait for the birds to come and return the calls.

This card combines his love of birds and my homework assignment from my Copic's class, which was to color bird feathers.

My DP is Glitz Pack Afternoon Muse. Glitz paper pack and other delights to go with it are available at our Sponsor Simon Says Stamp. They are just back from CHA and are getting in loads of new stuff, so now is a great time to browse their site.
My sentiment was created by me. My husband liked to imatate some of the lines from Bambi when we first met, so he will totally get this sentiment. I punched the sentiment with my new punch from stampin up. I also punched a heart to go behind the sentiment with my Creative Memories heart punches.
My image is Designed to Delight. I colored it with Copics and fussy cut it. I framed it with Stampin Up framelits die. The punch border was a MS punch. Everything was inked with Black Soot distress inks. I used a button and twine as my only embellishment. I don't normally use kraft, but I like the rustic look of it with the twine.

If you are here for the hop and you came from Deanette's awesome blog, then you are on track.

We are showcasing the new release by Sew Many Cards. I was given Toga's birthday to work with. Isn't he the cutest? When you buy this image, you get it in black lines AND in fully colored as well. It also comes with the colored images in pieces, so that you can paper piece it and get all those wonderful layers.

One lucky person who leaves a comment on my post will receive this image for their very own. Doesn't that sound great?

Now for the details of my card. My DP is MME's Kaleidoscope. I love the yummy colors! I have had this pad for about 7 years. Even though I have used it alot, I still have a lot of it left, so it is a good thing that I like it so much.
The challenge this week is buttons, so I have used 3 on my card.
Toga with this delightful ladybug, is colored with Copic's and I uses Stickles on the gift bows, the ladybugs spots and the center of the turtles flowers. My sentiment is Hot Off the Press.
My second card uses this months 1/2 off image. It is Duncan holding Letter. You can get it at Sew Many Cards.
I used a scrap piece of paper and I have no idea who makes it. I used a couple of flower shaped eyelet. My heart border is a MS punch. The heart I cut with my Cricut. I added some baker's twine to the card. Everything was distress with Ranger's Worn Lipstick distress inks.
Duncan is colored with Copic's and I added Stickles to Duncans heart on his shirt and envolope. I also added some Stickles to the die cut heart.

Love Bubbles

Love Bubbles - A is for Animal Antics is the challenge this fortnight at Alphabet Challenge Blog. Since our last challenge was Z for Zoo Animals, I thought I would go for a domesticated animal this time.

My DP is Making Memories, Noteworthy Audrey. I used a MS punch on the border.
If you look carefully under the MS punch butterfly, you will see the pale pink tulle that I used over the DP
My sentiment is Hot off the Press, which I placed on a nesting Creative Memories heart punch. I lined the pink heart with Cinnamon Stickles.
My image is Bubble Fun by Wags 'n Whiskers. I colored my image with Copic's then I added some Stickles to the girls dress and her hair barrette. I added some Judykins Diamond Glaze on the bubbles and the little girls shoes.
I used more of the tulle on my flower spray. All flowers in the spray were cut from stems.
I would love to see an animal that you create and join in our challenge at Alphabet Challenge Blog.

Be Mine

Be Mine - It's time for another challenge with Seems a Little Sketchy. Just take a look at this beauty below. Isn't it an awesome sketch?

The pink/red DP is Girlfreinds Damask by Tayor for Daisyd's. The pink polka dots are from a block that I bought eons ago that the cover is missing from, so I don't know who makes it. All papers are inked with Ranger's Victorian Velvet ink. The ribbon was also from my stash.

This adorable little girl is of Lucy Valentines Girl by Robyn's Fetish. Isn't she the cutest? Lucy is colored with Copic's.
We are also sponsored by the fabulous Pizzazz Aplenty!!! I have really gotten into the stick pins and Judy at Pizzazz Aplenty has the best prices around for supplies. Check them out and I am sure that you will agree.
The flowers were cut using my Cricut and the Flower Shoppe cartridge. The centers are from a bush that I pulled off.

Toga's Birthday

Toga's Birthday - How do you like my brightly colored card? There is a sweet little girl who stays with my daughter sometimes who loves turtles. I made this card with her in mind.

My DP is K & Company's, Berry Sweet. K & Company is my very favorite paper company. I love bright colors and they do bright very well.

My sentiment is Hot off the Press. My punch is EK Success. I love that it is candles. So perfect for a birthday card.

Togo is by Sew Many Cards and you can get it here. I colored Toga with Copic's and I added Stickles to his pom pom and on the flame for the candles.

Raining Down Love

Raining Down Love - For today's card I used this sweet little Tilda image. She has been in my stash for over a year, but this is the first time that I have inked her. I colored Tilda with Copics and added Stickles to her bodice and the lace pattern on the umbrella. I also added some Diamond Glaze to her boots.

Our challenge at Craft Your Days Away is stitching. This is faux stitching and not real stitching.I punched holes on the image with a paper piercer and then drew the lines using a fine tip pen and a ruler.

My DP is K & Company Ancestry. I love the depth of the creams and browns and I adore the blue-green in it. I inked everything with Ranger's Tea Dye distress inks.
My flowers are recycled. I wore them in my hair for my daughters wedding. I added a double bow that was tied with my Bow Easy. I love adding ribbon to cards and if you don't have a Bow Easy I highly recommend one. They are available at our sponsor, Pretty Little Ribbon Shoppe.

I thought it would be fun to have it raining hearts from a heart shaped cloud. The scrolled heart was cut using my Cricut and the Straight from the Nest cartridge. The tiny hearts were punched.
