In the news

Hi, I know that many of you know that I live in Moore, Oklahoma, and you may have seen the news reports.

It is shocking to have something so horrific to happen in our town as a beheading. We did not know anyone involved and we learned of it on the news; as did most people.

On that day, my husband had been trying to drive past the Vaugh Foods building and was turned back. They did tell him something about work place violence, but he had no idea as to what had happened. That building is about a mile from my house.

We are all fine. Just in shock, like the rest of the nation.

Camera

Camera - Just a simple card for my DT card for Crafts 4 Eternity. Our challenge this week is to use a camera/film element in a project.

The camera is a die cut from my Creative Memories days. I traced the outlined area with a stardust pen and while you can't tell it from the photo, The center is a separate piece is pop dotted so that it is raised.

My DP is Doodlebug Designs, Day to Day. I love the cute little cameras in the paper. I used a die for the little banners and finished off the card with some gemstone swirls.

Torn Pastels

Torn Pastels - It is time for another challenge at The Sweet Pea Stampers!!! This fortnight we are looking for torn edges. You don't have to use a Sweet Pea image to play along with us, but we not only have a prize for anyone who plays, but we have an extra prize for a Sweet Pea user.

I have used Ching-Chou Kuik's Spring Luna in rubber and  it is also available in digi.

I few weeks ago, I colored this same image in red and gold. To see how different they look, click here.

She is colored with Copics and I used a lot of Stickles!! I love sparkle.

My flowers are stamped with an embossing powder that has a sheen to it. The camera did not pick it up, but it is really pretty in real life.

The stamps and die is HC. I used used a CL die for the swirly vine.

My DP is Glitz, Love You Madly.

Minnie

Minnie - A friend needed a card for his 3 year old niece, who is a very big Minnie Mouse and this is what I created for her.

I believe the paper is Imagination Station. I just had to use it, as it is the traditional skirt pattern for Minnie.

All little girls love bling, so I added lots of to the front. I have no idea what to call this bling. It comes in a strip.

The card is an accordion card that uses EC die set.I love these dies for children's cards.

The Minnie was cut using my Cricut and the Mickey and Friends cartridge; as is the flower.

The balloons were colored with Copics and I used twine for the balloon strings.

This card is my DT card for Creative Card Crew. Our challenge for the next 2 weeks is twine. I hope you will come and play with us.

Fast Rollin

Fast Rollin - Time for a new sketch at Seems a Little Sketchy. This challenge is sponsored by Kenny K Downloads.

I flipped the sketch for this challenge.

My designer papers are Doodlebug Design Inc, Day to Day.

My image is Kenny K Downloads, Airborne. He is such a great image. I love the position of the hands.

I colored Airborne with Copics and then added Stickles to the side edge of the skateboard and his helmet. I think even boys would wear a sparkly helmet.

My sentiment is Studio G and I used 2 SU punches on it.

Here you can see the dimension between the layers. You can also see the 3 brown pearls I created using a pearl pen. The brown always flattens more than I like. The other colors don't do that, so I am not sure why the brown does.

This card is a slider card. Here the image is in the down position and below it is up. Some little boy is going to love playing with this.

Frozen Beauty

Frozen Beauty - The challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity this week is YOUR STYLE. So this is an awesome one for you to play along with us. I do hope you will join us.

My favorite style is soft and girly, I like lace and bling. I also love cards with fancy folds.

This challenge is sponsored by Sassy Designs Studio and I used one of their fabulous images. This one is Let It Go, featuring Elsa from Disney's Frozen.

My Designer papers are Teresa Collins, Tell Your Story. I started this card with some teal Christmas papers, but I needed some contrast and nothing was working, Then I noticed this pad of paper. It would still give me Elsa's signature teal dress, sorry, I tried to "see" her dress in another color and it was a bridge to far.

I used Elisabeth Crafts die set to create the card body, then used some flowers for the front. The sentiment is also from Sassy Studio Designs. I colored it with Copics. The butterflies are a MS punch and the heart is a SB die.

Here is the lovely Elsa. I colored her with Copics and added lots of Lacy Frost Stickles. The banner is from a sheet of the DP. I fussy cut it, then pop dotted it up.

The back sentiment is also from Sassy Studio Designs. Again I used Copics to color it.

I love how this card came out and it was really fun to turn myself loose and create in "my" style.

Silent Night

Silent Night - Time for a new challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity. This one is one that almost all of us do with every challenge. Use something digital!! I used a digi image for mine.

It has been ions since I have made a card with a Sew Many Cards image. I love this one with the animals in the nativity scene. I colored the image with Copics. I used a stardust pen for some sparkle.

My poinsettia is SB. I cut white paper and added Picked Raspberry distress ink to the centers. Then sprayed water and let the water spread the color. I love how this technique softens softens the color. I used silver prills in the center. The leave is also a SB die.
