Happy Easter

Happy Easter - I have an Easter card for you today. This is the card that I made for all of my Wednesday crop buddies. We exchange cards 4 times a year. They all have a lot of talent, so it can be a little stressful coming up with a card. This year, I have been in a brace or cast for the last 4 months, so it has been challenging doing anything, but I love this special time with my friends.

My sentiment is an old wooden stamp that I have had in my stash for years. I don't even know who made it.

I used a thin baker's twine and attached banners and a punched butterfly to it.  My paper is Making Memories.

The nest was cut using my Cricut and the Straight from the Nest cartridge. The eggs were in a seasonal package from Hobby Lobby a few years back. I tried to color them blue with perfect pearls mist, but only a hint of the color showed up on it.

I hope you liked my card and will come and see what the rest of my team mates make for the Easter challenge at One Stop Craft Challenge.

Daffodil

Daffodil - Hello blogging friends. It is time for my double DT card. I love it when I can hit both of them at the same time!

The challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity is to use a super cute image. How easy is that with so many cute images out there. We are sponsored by Crafty Sentiments. They have oodles of cute images. Take a look at their's here. The prize for this challenge is 3 digi stamps.

The challenge at Alphabet Challenge Blog is D for daffodils. I love daffodils, but my very favorite flower is tulips, another spring flower! I guess I just like spring. And we have had a gorgeous spring day here in Oklahoma today. It had been cold earlier in the week, but I am hoping that the cold is behind us for this year. Not that I am complaining. We had a very mild winter.

My papers are K and Company's Meadow. Did you notice the yellow paper has daffodils? But look at the red paper, it also is covered in daffodils!

My flower is Pizzazz Aplenty's mulberry flowers. I added the coiled wire and the leave is SB and I hand shaped it with a pinching motion.

My image is Crafts and Me daffodil Spring. Isn't she cute? I love her hair with her coiled braids on the sides of her head.

I can not figure out if she is a fairy, a mermaid or just a non mythical human. The area that I colored peach, could be a bow or fairy wings, the bottom part looks like mermaid flippers to me, but I suppose it could be a skirt as well. Then we have her among the daffodils. It just don't see a mermaid  in a flower bed. What do you think?

I colored her with Copics and added a little Stickles to the butterfly in her hair, on her dress/fin and on the daffodils. I also added some liquid pearls to the pearl trim on her top and belt.

The bow was tied using my Bow Easy and the sentiment is SU; as is the 2 punches that house the sentiment. I added a few Dew Drops to the sentiment and the top of the card.

Red, White and Blue

Red, White and Blue - Nope, it's not the 4th of July, just another sketch challenge at Sunday Sketch and Stamp.

Here is our terrific sketch for this week. A nice easy one.

For my card, I used some papers that have been in my stash for a few years. I got them out of the dollar spot at Target.

As soon as I looked at this image by Mayzy Art, I immediately thought of a nautical theme. I colored her with Copics and added Stickles to the red stripes on her shirt.

My sentiment frame is a SU stamp and punch. The sentiment is Hot Off the Press.

Pink Rose

Pink Rose - We have a recipe challenge for you at One Stop Craft Challenge. 1 image, 2 or more embellishments and 3 or more papers. It is a pretty easy one and our sponsor is Crafts and Me and they have such gorgeous stuff. I really love their Hannah Lynn images.

This image is one of Hannah Lynn's. It is called Forever Rose and you can get it here. I colored her with Copics. It was so much fun to color her hair.  I thought it would be fun to color her hair with pink high lights and it was! If you like to color hair, then these are the images for you!

I didn't want to cover up that gorgeous hair, so I added Stickles only to the flower in the snow globe.

My papers are MME Madison Avenue.  I love this pad. I paired it with cream ribbon and a pink lace. You will have to look carefully, but I also used pink lace with it. The cream, double bow was tied using my Bow Easy. The pink lace is under the image on the rounded paper.

For the image frame, I used a SU punch.

This banner was in a sheet of the paper and I fussy cut it.  I added a couple of gemstones to the paper. All papers were inked with Gathered Twigs distress ink.

Dressed Up

Dressed Up - Today's challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity is Egg-cellent Easter. We wan to see Easter themed projects. Some lucky person is going to win 3 digital images from Crafts 4 Eternity.

For my image, I used Saturated Canary's Easter Dress. Isn't she adorable? I colored her with Copics and added Stickles to her bows and the lace in the back of her dress. I gave the bunny some Polar White Flower Soft on his tail.

My ribbon bow was tied with my Bow Easy. The flowers are Melissa Frances and the big pink one is Pizzazz Aplenty; as is most of the beads in the stick pin.

My DP is from a Season pad that I have had in my stash for about 5 years. The sentiment is a yard sale find that was punched with a SU ticket punch. the blue layer was hand cut.

I finished off the card with 3 pearls in each of the upper corners.

Secret

Secret - Wohoo! it is time for another challenge at Creative Card Crew. This fortnights challenge is masculine projects. We all know how difficult those can be to make, but the team really knocked it out of the ball park. How it that for a masculine metaphor?

I made a secret message card for my grandson. He love sports of all kinds and what little boy doesn't love a secret compartment.

My image is Give Big Boy by Saturated Canary. I colored him with Copics.

My Designer Paper is Karen Foster, Sports.

My slider is SU and you can barely see my sheer ribbon. It is a bale blue.

When you open the gate fold you see this messages, but wait, open the inside and ....

More messages!!!!

I See

I See - It is time for a new sketch at Seems a Little Sketchy

This is the last sketch by Jenn. She has stepped down due to medical issues. So now I am the new owner of Seems a Little Sketchy. Tess will be designing the sketches for now on. She has designed some super ones and I can't wait to share them with you.

But for this fortnight come and play this sketch with us!

We are sponsored by Crafty Sentiments and Robin's Nest this fortnight. So come play with us for a chance to win great prizes from them.

My image is Crafty Sentiments Primrose Baby Sitting. Isn't she adorable? I colored her with Copics and added Stickles to her hair bows and skirt. I used my Spica pen on the pink stars on the crib bedding.

My image and leaves were cut with a SB. I added Stickles to the leaves.

The rose is a ribbon length and I topped the ribbon rose with a stickpin. The stickpin is from one of the swaps that I recently participated in.

My papers are Al Fresco by CR Gibson, LLC. All papers were inked with Vintage photo distress inks.

Never to Old

Never to Old - I have a simple, but fun card for my DT project for One Stop Craft Challenge. We are sponsored by Doctor Digi House of Stamps. What is the challenge this week? Everybody's favorite... Anything Goes!!!!

My designer paper is K and Company's Julianne.  All the papers were run through my Zutter distrezz-it.

My image is one of our sponsors, Dunderton Accademicals FC. I have no idea what kind of a ball it is that he has his foot propped up on.

I colored him with Copics. I used only Warm and Cool Grays and my skin tones. I like the effect. I used Diamond Glaze on his glasses.

I used a MS punch for the border and a SU ticket punch and sentiment.

Flower Basket

Flower Basket - Today's challenge at Alphabet challenge Blog is to use something that  is "coveted."
I had a panic attack at the mere thought of using some of my most treasured stash. So I realized that I would need to make something that was worthy of my treasure.

This sweet little basket actually uses 3 of my most coveted items; the papers from MME, Madison Avenue, extra soft tulle from SU, and sparkly buttons.

My treasured basket is for someone who I treasure even more then the coveted supplies; the little bun in the oven of my DIL. We are finally having a granddaughter !!!!! She is due to make her arrival in July and this is my gift for the shower that is on Sunday.

My son and DIL live in Alaska and her shower is here in Oklahoma, so I need something small that Amanda (DIL) could easily put in her suitcase. So I thought a gift card would be nice and a dainty little headband and sandal set.

The basket is a very simple little thing to make. You can find a tutorial here.

I used that MME coveted paper and inked with  Frayed Burlap (I think, but am not sure.)

I watched a tutorial by Dawn to see how to make the headband and after seeing adorable baby sandals at a craft fair, I adapted it for the sandals.

The sandel is modeled here by my 3 year old grandson. It is tight enough to go on a newborn, but they do stretch really well, so she will be able to wear them for a long while.

I hope Amanda will like my set and that you will join us at Alphabet Challenge Blog and show us you coveted craft items.

Celebrate

Celebrate - A clean and simple card for me today. I don't do them very often, so what a shocker this is even to me!

Our challenge this week at Crafts 4 Eternity is a color challenge. We are sponsored by Floppy Latte Designs.

I started my card by scoring 2 sets of 3 lines with my MS scoreboard. One of my favorite tools!

The sentiment is Hot Off the Press and stamped using Spiced Marmalade distress inks.

I don't have a clue as to who make the flower stamps. They were in a kit that I bought eons ago.  I used Mustard Seed and Peeled Paint distress inks.

I finished off the flower with a clear gemstone in the center.

Lobster

Lobster - It is Sunday and time for another sketch challenge at Sunday Sketch and Stamp.

This week, I made the sketch. I hope you like it and will come and play with us.
I made my card using a sheet of  Tinsel and Twig by the Girls Paperie and ivory cardstock and a new stamp set by SU called by the Tide.

I used the scripted stamp on ivory cardstock and used my distress inks to color the paper. The lobster stamp was used and cut with a SB, then popped up on pop dots.

The seahorse was stamped and then embossed with SU's embossing glitter. It really has a nice sparkle in real life.

The pearls were made with a dark brown pearl pen. Most of the pearl pens, make a really nice rounded pearl, but for some reason the dark brown always flattens some. This one is the best that I have ever gotten with the dark brown.
