Tiny Fairy

Tiny Fairy - Today's challenge at One Stop Craft Challenges is ribbon and flowers. One of my favorites!

My card uses by designer papers by Kaiser Craft. Chapter One. I love the blue/greens with the olivey greens and black.

My image is Clothespin Fairy by Inky Impressions. Isn't she adorable. I love her socks hanging on the branch.

I colored her with Copics and added 3 tiny black gemstones to the upper right corner.

I tied the ribbon using my Bow Easy and finished it off with a Stick pin and 3 tiny flowers.

Magnet Wreath

Magnet Wreath - Today's Anything Goes challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity gave me the perfect opportunity to make this gift for one of teachers at the Day Care Center. This one is for Heather. I owe a huge amount of gratitude to Heather. She is the one that came into the room and urged me to take the baby the day of the tornado. The baby had an appointment that day and he was to be picked up by someone else an hour later. So I was to take only the 3 year old. But because of Heather, I did take both boys, and the baby was not in the building when the tornado destroyed the Day Care Center a short time later.

They had 13 children and 5 teachers left when the tornado struck the Day Care Center. They were all in the bathroom with the teachers laying on top of the children. Everyone survived with minor injuries. The building did not fair as well.

My project is a magnet board. I used a metal plate that I picked up at the Dollar Tree. I used a running stitch to pleat the tulle border. I used my treasured hand dyed rose ribbon on the inner edge.

My DP is DCWV Rustic Stack. I used my Cricut to cut the circle. I love this cream butterfly on the edge. It needed a little bling.

My wire was coiled around a paintbrush.

My flowers were handmade using SB posie dies, Dusty Concord distress ink and pearls.

I tied another piece of tulle into a bow for the hanger. I still have to make the magnets for this one, but I will get something that matches it tomorrow and some more magnets.

I still have 4 more of these to make. I want to make one for each of those 5 brave teachers who risked everything to keep those 13 children safe.

Kaylee

Today's challenge at Creative Card Crew is in honor of my beautiful, new granddaughter, Kaylee. We have 5 grandson's, but Kaylee is our first granddaughter.

Kaylee was born on the 28th of June. Because my son is in the Army and stationed in Alaska, we have not met her yet, but she is arriving here in Oklahoma on Thursday. We can't wait. After the horror of the tornado, it is really nice to have something positive.

The challenge is to make  a project for a baby, or you can make something with the dominate color of pink or blue (in honor of the new prince.) We are sponsored by the Scrapping Center.

My DP is K and Company. I added some ultra fine glitter on the edge of the white lace side border. I also added some pink pearls in the centers of the flowers on the lace.

I added some cheesecloth under the photo of Kaylee. There is a doily placed under the title of Kaylee. The letters were cut with the songbird cartridge with my Cricut. I painted them with some champagne shimmer paint and inked the edges with Worn Lipstick.

MY corner spray is made with feathers, a MD die, a CL die and flowers that were made using an awesome tutorial by Norma Lee. I used Worn Lipstick distress ink for my color and added pearls for my centers.

My DP's are MME, 12 Days of Christmas. The Holly leaves are MD and the flower is Petaloo. I added some extra pearls to it.

Simple Flower

Simple Flower - Today's challenge at One Stop Craft Challenge is no designer paper. I used a simple flower stamp by Hampton Arts. I inked the top part of the stamp with Broken China distress ink and the leave/stem area with Peeled Paint distress ink and stamped it several times to make my "designer paper."

I stamped the flower one time with Memento ink and colored it with Copics.

My sentiment and punches are SU.

Lavender and lace

Lavender and Lace - What I can do this past week as been very limited; as I had surgery on my left wrist. The challenge this week at Crafts for Eternity is to use inks or sprays on your project. I wanted to do some ghosting for this, but with only one workable hand, that was out of the question.

I finally settled on using my sprays. My first attempt used 2 colors and they looked a muttled mess, so that idea went into the trash.

This time I used a mask from Tattered Angels and sprayed this purple. The black stamp is a cordinating stamp from Tattered Angels. I am much more pleased with this result.

My DT project for Alphabet Challenge Blog was to use lace, so I found this lovely lace in my stash.

I used a SU die for the leaves and my purple flower is from Pizzazz Aplenty

Prairie

Prairie - Today's challenge at Creative Card Crew is "The Great Outdoors." I just couldn't resist this background paper with Crafty Sentiments, Spring Amy. I think she looks like she could be a little girl from the TV series Little House on the Prairie.

Crafty Sentiments, Spring Amy was colored with Copics and cut with a SB.

DP is Paper House 100% country. All papers were inked with Vintage Photo distress inks.

The "wheat" was growing wild in the empty lot next to my house. I cut it and used a fixative so that it won't fall about over time.

Lollipop

Lollipop - We have a new sketch at Seems a Little Sketchy. I love this sketch. It is a great one to use. And as we are a fortnightly challenge, you have 2 weeks to get it in. I love sketch challenges that are fortnightly. This way I don't have to wait till the last minute to get my DT projects in.
This sketch is a particularly great one to inter as we have 3 sponsors and that means 3 winners. Di's Digi Stamps, The Robin's Nest and Crafty Sentiments!

Here is the sketch.

My image is Harriet by Crafty Sentiments. Isn't she a doll? I colored her with Copics and added the clouds with Tumbled Glass distress ink and a template that I got from Heather's Hobbie Haven. Look on the left side bar to find the template.

My DP is Recollections, Punch is SU, and the sentiment is Miss Elizabeth's.

Birds

Birds - Today at One Stop Craft Challenge we have everyone's favorite challenge - Anything Goes!!!!

I made these sweet little stick pins and holders for a stick pin swat at CDAC. I had to make 8 for it, this time. Our theme is summertime. I thought of these sweet little birds flying around the flowers.

The sweet little charm is Shrink Art using Darcie's Vintage Trinkets. Darcie has done all the work. I just printed out the charms that I wanted. Then cut them out, punched out a jump ring hole and shrunk. The hard part was adding the jump rings.

The "card" is another of the clip art images. The colors are soft because the color intensives when shrunk. But this time I was printing on cardstock, so they are soft colors. The bird is another image on the CD. I cut around them and stacked 2 foam pop-ups and pushed the bins through them.

The stick pin with the blue crystal head, I bought at Pizzazz Aplenty. Judy has the best choice of stick pins that I have seen. Her prices are really good and she even ships overseas.

The fun part is picking beads. It is amazing how many beads there is on the market. My DDIL gave me some of these beads for Christmas.
