Blue Snow Goddess

Blue Snow Goddess - Welcome to the Michelle Perkett Getting Ready for the Holidays Blog Hop. If you came here from Rene's blog than you are on the right track. If you arrived here some other right you can start at the beginning at www.michelleperkett.blogspot.com or if you lost your way along the trail, you can go to the challenge blog www.michelleperkettstudio.blogspot.com to see the complete hop list.

The holiday that I am getting ready for is Christmas/winter. I have used Michelle's Snow Goddess image. She is one of my favorites (I seem to say that alot when it comes to Michelle's images.)

I get to give this image to one lucky person who leaves a comment on this post!!!!

My DP is the beautiful DCWV Winter Wonder stack. My center darker blue flower is Recolletions. The paler blue are Wiltons that I folded and stacked. The centers and smaller pale blue is Treasures by Shabby Chic. My bow was tied with my wonderful Bow Easy.

My Snow Goddess image was colored with Copics and I used MS ultra fine glitter on her muff and collar to make the sparkle.

The next and last stop on the hop is the challenge blog at www.michelleperkettstudio.blogspot.com. So leave me a comment and head over there!!!!

Blessed Nativity

Blessed Nativity - This week at Sew Many Challenges, the challenge is anything goes, so I finally got to use this image. I have been wanting to do it for a while, so yea me!

I decided to go shabby chic and used a Tim Holtz paper pad. I used a spool of lace to and my pink ATG to hold the lace in place as I ruffled it. I used an ultra fine glitter and then my Viva Decor pen for the pearls.
My image is colored with Copics and again I used my ultra fine glitter. I was asked about my fold, but it is not really a fold. My DP was double sided, so I cut a half circle and then folded my card. I have photographed the inside so you can see. Really I was just taking a cheap skate way of following a sketch.

My second card uses the Friday Freebie that you can get here. My DP is from Target's dollar spot last year. My baker's twine is homemade. My friend Milly came over and it was her idea to seperate a thread from a length of cotton yarn, color it, then retwist it. It took us a few tries, but we finally got it to work and I must say that I am pleased with the result and it was so much cheaper than real baker's twine.

My sentiment is by Inkadinkado. The pin is from a pin swap that I recently participated in. It was a lot of fun and I got some amazing pins. The swap was divided by holidays and I signed up for the Christmas swap.
My image was colored with Copic's and then coated with MS ultra fine glitter. I added a little bit of Polar white flower soft to the snowman's hat.

I hope all of you will join in on our Anything Goes challenge at Sew Many Challenges.

Fun in the Sun

Fun in the Sun - Introducing Molly by Michelle Perkett. The challenge at Michelle Perkett Studio is "Let's go to the Beach." That is why I gave her a beach scene to play in.

My DP is Berry Sweet by K & Company. My ribbon was from the Seasonal shop at Hobby Lobby a summer or two ago. I added a pink gemstone to the ribbon.

One of my punches is MS and the other EK Success. My image was with a Spell Binders.

Molly was colored with Copics and I added some Stickles to the flowers on her swimsuit and on her towel.

Let's Hang Out!

Let's Hang Out! - Hi everyone! Today the challenge at Craft Your Days Away is summertime and our sponsor is the wonderful Simon Say Stamp. They have lots of rubber stamps to include The Greeting Farm and Magnolia. The carry a wide range of crafting products that will delight crafters of all levels and skills.

My DP is Heidi Swapp. It is double sided, so 2 of the patterns were from the same sheet of paper. The DP with the purple and orange is Miss Elizabeth.

I used teardrops that are Recollections and made the rosettes quilling a spiril. They were then coated with Matte Accents. They are a little milky as I photographed them before they had completly dried. My tiny pearls were made using my Viva Deco Pearl pen.

My image is The Greeting Farms mermaid. This is one of the first stamps that I bought when I first started working with Copic's. I was on vacation with my son, his wife and my male grandchildren. Everyone wanted to color this mermaid, even though I had also bought a stamp of a boy on a skateboard. I used glue from The Rubber Cafe on her, then used a lot of fine glitter to make her fins and shells sparkle. I also added some Viva Decor pearls in her hair.
Summertime is a fun challenge to do, so I hope you will join in the fun with us at Craft Your Days Away.

Cookie Drop

Cookie Drop - Today's challenge at Sew Many Challenges is cookies. The song that Cookie Monster on Sesame street keeps going through my head - Cookie, cookie, cookie starts with C.

You know you are a military family when the only thing you can think of to go with that challenge is Sesame street and a military treat drop. Some you may recall that early on in our war in the middle east we droped treats for the children and also we dropped food in Berlin when that town was cut off from other ways to get food during WW2.

My image is Miki Flying in Helicoper. I colored him with Copics. I cut the muffins and cookies with my Cricut. I believe the cartridge was Everyday Paper Dolls. I inked the sweet treats with Ranger's Vintage Photo.

My DP is Pressed Petal's Little Safari. My "flower" was cut using Tim Holtz and Sizzix Rosette.

My second card uses today's Friday Freebie. Don't you just love the shape of this tree? You can get this image today and today only http://www.digital.sewmanycards.com/.

My DP is Pressed Petals Haceida. The flowers are Recollections. Ribbon is Adornaments by EK Success.

High Flying Birthday

High Flying Birthday - The challenge at Michelle Perkett Studio is to make something song inspired. The song I chose was "Up, up and away in my beautiful balloon."

My card is a Joy card that is really 2 cards put together, one smaller than the other. My DP is kaleidoscope by MME. The tag is a punch out sheet that goes with the DP.
I used a balloon punch for the balloons and I used some embroidery floss for the strings on my balloons.
I used my Bow Easy to tie the bow on the tag and I put a tiny flower shaped gemstone in the bow's center.

My image is Flying Birthday Girl by Michelle Perkett. I colored it with Copics and used some Stickeds on her hem, ribbon sash and on the frosting. The flame is Studio G glitter.

Happy Traveler's

I am happy to announce that I am the new owner of Creative Card Crew, a challenge blog. The challenges with run fortnightly or bi-weekly for us Americans. This first challenge is Animal Antics.

The sponsor for our first challenge since I became owner is Wags 'n Whiskers. They have adorable images. So head over there and take a peek at.
A big thank you to Wags 'n Whiskers.

Happy Traveler's - For my card, I used Wags 'n Whiskers Traveling Buddies. My DP is a package that I bought years ago at Walmart. The paper have all sorts of travel themed designs. I am fond of the map paper.

I used 5 brads around the circle. I also used several buttons and a tiny bow that I tied with my Bow Easy. My image was cut with a Spell Binders and I inked the edges of all the DP and image with Rangers Vintage Photo ink.
I used several Recollections flowers and some brown craft wire to make my floral spray. I had a gemstone in the center of the glitter flower, but after I photographed it, I noticed that the gemstone was missing.

My traveling buddies were colored with Copics and I gave the little girl's shirt some Stickles. I also give her shoes some Matte accents. It is still before Labor day, so she can still wear white shoes. The sidewalk was not part of the image. I free handed it. I envision them on a moving sidewalk in a airport trying to plot there course.

Glittered Angel

Glittered Angel - This is angel Bailey bear by Sew Many Cards. What a sweety she is. The challenge this week at Sew Many Challenges is to use glitter.

I used 2 different kinds of glitter on Bailey. I used Ultra fine glitter by MS on the cloud and a chunkier glitter on the wings. Bailey was colored with Copic's.

My DP is Pressed Petal - Baby Girl. I used a lace that has tiny pink sequins in it. Can you see the glimmer?

My sentiment is stampendous and the tiny bird that I stamped in pink is from Hot off the Press.

Today's Friday Freebie is Love Tree. You too, can get this image for free today, but today only here. My Love Tree was colored with Copic's. The pink emblem is cut with a Spell Binders. My ribbon is tied with my Bow Easy and I hung a charm with a heart on it.

Books are Friends too!

Books are friends too! - Today starts the new challenge at Michelle Perkett Studio. What are we doing this week? Buttons! Buttons are a fun embellishment. I have been know to look through clothes that were being taken to Goodwill for buttons. Sometimes you can find really interesting ones. However today I made my own buttons. I punched them out of cardstock and coated them with Matte Accents. My baker's twine was also homemade. It is nice to make them this way I can use the same Copic that I colored the image with.

My DP is Al Fresco Tapestry by CR Gibson and was a gift from my daughter for Mother's day. Don't I have a great daughter? I used a MS punch.

The image is Stella by Michelle Perkett. I love this image. I love how studious Stella looks and how all the flowers and even the bee and butterfly have come to hear the story. What book do you think she is reading?

Stella was Colored with Copics and I used some fine glitter by the Rubber Cafe.

Little purse

Little Purse - Here is a little purse that I made for the Fancy Folds challenge at Craft Your Days Away. Fancy folds is one of my favorite challenges. They are time consuming to make, but are always masterpieces.

I can not take credit for this design, as I found it on another blog, who had found it here.

This is the side view of the purse.
This is the inside of the purse when it is opened up.
Here is the outside of the purse, again opened up.

My DP is Pressed Petals, Baby Boy pack. Can you believe that all that purple was intended for little boys? When my son was little, I had a pair of shorts that had a little bit of purple in the plaid design and my husband had a fit. He would really have a cow if I used this paper to scrapbook a boy page. But that is OK, as you can see I found a better use of it. LOL

The flowers are from a stem that I clipped off. The butterfly is a MS punch and I added some Viva Decor white pearls to make up it's body.
We are sponsored this fortnight by Meljen's Digital Stamps. Meljen's designs are so cute and color up so quickly. But despite how quickly they can be done, I have never seen one colored that I didn't like.
Here is a close up of my center, inside image. Isn't this little ballerina adorable?

I started taking ballet lessons a few years back. It is something that I have always wanted to do and now that my own children are on their own, I can finally do some of the things that I enjoy. My first year, it was just me and a bunch of beginning 10 year olds. The instructor asked if I wanted to be in the recital and I told her that I definitely did. I wanted more than 40 years to take ballet classes and I definitely wanted the full experience. Everyone was so supportive of me, and the next year, I was not the only older woman in my class.
The other image my Meljen that I used was this gorgeous rose. I used 4 of them and added some Stickles to the inside of the rose. I also used my Sakura pen on the swirls.

I hope you will try this card/purse and enter it in the Craft Your Days Away challenge. It really was easy to do and I love the result.

US of A

US of A - Yee-haw! The challenge at Sew Many Challenges is a recipe this week. The recipe has 4 components to it. We were to use blue, a diecut, ribbon and 3 round buttons.

My DP is Reminisce's American Stars, USA, and the blue star was cut from Freedom Stars. My ribbon is from Target's dollar spot a few years back. I love that all of my old stash was shuffled in my recent move, and is now being used!
My image is Cowboy Donkey by Sew Many Cards. I really enjoyed coloring him. Donkey was cut with a Spell Binders and distressed with Fired Brick distress inks.

This heart is today's Friday Freebie and you can get it here, but hurry; as it is only available for a short time. My DP for this card is My Mind's Eye Kaleidoscope. My butterfly punch is MS and I added some bling that I picked up at the convention. My Die cut is a Spellbinders.
The image is colored with Copic's and tied with a double ribbon using my Bow Easy.

My final card for today is one of Sew Many Cards new PJ pals. These all resemble real life kids who have health problems, that's why they are PJ pals! My image is Stryder, who is the 3 year old son of the owner of Sew Many Cards. I used some Matte Accents in the water.

My DP is Miss Elisabeth. The ice cream cone was cut using my Cricut. I think I used A Child's Year. My drops are recollections.

Tri-Dancers

Tri-Dancers - The challenge at Michelle Perkett Studio this week is to do anything but a card. This challenge had me stumped for a while. Finally it hit me that a pillow box would be fun and easy with my Cricut! I cut it using the fit to page feature and the Easter cartridge. My DP is from my stash and I'm sorry, but it was from a pad that I no longer have the cover from.

I cut me flower also using my Cricut and did the wet, wad, and dry techinique. A fun way to make a flower. I used a MS punch and my white Viva Decor Pearl pen. I tied my ribbon with my bow easy.
My image is 3 Graces by Michelle Perkett. I colored the images with Copic's and used my Sukara pen to add just a hint of sparkle.
You can join us at Michelle Perkett Studio in this fun challenge here. You must use a Michelle Perkett image to play, once you see Michelle's images they will be become some of your favorite images to work with. I love how girly they are, but the team did a great job of making guy cards with them for our Father's day challenge a while back.

What's Cooking - Welcome to Sew Many Challenges July Blog Hop. If you came here from Audrey's blog, then you are on the right track.

This month we are cooking up a storm (I hope not literally; as I live in Oklahoma and you know how bad our storms can be.) I used the super cute Miki Baking image, and as if that was not enough Angela also gave us these really neat recipe cards also. I get to give this image and RECIPE cards to some lucky winner who leaves me a comment on this post.

My card is more of a little booklet. It has 5 pages. Above it the cover and here is page 2 and 3.
And here is page 2 (again) 4 and 5. I promised some of my team mates that I would post my measurements for this, so let me tell you all the products that I used, then I will post the measurement below that.

My DP is English Garden by Making Memories. My striped ribbon came from the Seasonal Shoppe at Hobby Lobby (I like to shop there when everything is on clearance in the off season.) All of the little paper cut outs were left overs from a Make and Take at the Mellisa Francis.

All of my images were colored with Copic's and I added some Stickles to Miki's Baker's hat. My 1st page image was cut with a Spell Binders die cut and my faux stitches were drawn on with a Creative Memories red pen. All of my papers were distressed with Rangers Antique Linen inks. Other die cuts were inked with Ranger's Tea Dye ink. The cover has 3 buttons from Michael s Dollar Spot.
Page 3 uses an eyelet on the Mellisa Francis tag. Page 4 uses 3 stars from the Seasonal shoppe. Page 5 has a flower pulled off a stem.

Now for my measurements:
12x12 sheet of card stock and cut off one corner 6 1/4 in by 6. See above photo.

The solid lines are cut lines and the dotted are score lines. That middle measurement that is hard to see in 1/2 inch. I hope this makes sense.

For my Friday Freebie, I used the cupcake image. You can get it here, but only for today.

My DP is a Birthday Celebration pad that I picked up from Big Lots. The image was colored with Copics.
Now for the part that you all are playing for, my part of the sentence is "has to share." Now leave me a comment and head over to the fabulous Georgia.
