Seahorse Illusion

Seahorse Illusion - It is time for a new challenge at The Sweet Pea Stampers. Our challenge is Thinking of You/Missing You/Just Because.

My DP is Authentique's Renew. I love the yellow with the aqua colors.

Using Ching Chou Kuik's Seahorse Illusion available in digi and rubber.

I colored this sweet image with Copic's. I used a glitter pen to add some touches to her hair and the sea plants.

I added some fine glitter to the seahorse. I had a helper in my 3 year old grandson. He was so sweet; I let him sprinkle the glitter on and he told me "I like making cards with you." He really made me feel good.

I used a CL die for the vine, a HC die and stamp for the flowers. The 3 year old added the Flower Soft to the center of the flowers and more glitter to the flowers. I made the stick pin and used a Bow Easy to tie the ribbon.

Love at Christmas

Love at Christmas - Sorry to be late in writing this post. I always schedule my post with my photos, then come back and write the post usually before it goes live, but I have fallen behind. My daughter has been moving into her new home and I am exhausted from that process.

You would not believe how bad my legs hurt. My job was packing up the kitchen and the back of my upper legs is reeling from the constant motion of squatting down to put things in the boxes.

Back to my card, this card is my DT card for Creative Card Crew. Our challenge for this fortnight is Christmas.

We are sponsored by Whiff of Joy and they let us play with some of their adorable images. I colored Henry and his pal with Copics. I inked the edges with Tumbled Glass distress ink. I won a snowflake stamp and stamped it around the edge, then added fine glitter to the fur on Henry's hat and the stamped snowflakes.

The snowflake is a SP die with a gemstone in the centers. The sentiment is SU; as is the corresponding punch.

My designer papers are BoBunny's Powder Mountain.

Beach Huts

Beach Huts - We have a real simple sketch for you this fortnight at Seems a Little Sketchy

No designer paper on this one. I let this awesome image by Teri Sherman at Delicious Doodles stand alone. I just did some simple shading with my Copics. I did use a scrap of paper for the 3 dangly parts of the sketch.

I did a simple knot and added 3 pearls to finish it off.

Come and get sketchy with us at Seems a Little Sketchy and you could win some Delicious Doodles images!

Scatter

Scatter - Time for another challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity!!! This time we are looking for Banners and Bunting!!!! I know that lots of you love to use them on your cards and pages, and I can't wait to see what you come up with!

For my card I started with the some paper that came in Paper Trey Inks Shakers and Sprinkles market kit. I am in love with this kit!!! It came with papers, dies, stamps and a box of sprinkles!!!!

I stamped the words directly on the back ground paper, then built my shaker box using the dies. Notice what is inside my shaker box? No you are not going blind. I forgot to add the sprinkles!!! I tried to take it apart and add them, but the foam is very tacky and I could not.

So what did I do? I added them to the outside. Not what I envisioned when I was planning this card, but I do still like the way it came out.

Here are my banners. I inked all papers with Gathered Twigs distress ink

Girly Girl?

Girly Girl? - It is time for another challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity and Alphabet Challenge Blog. This weeks challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity is to laugh. When I looked at this image, I just knew that I wanted to make a girly card for a girl who was anything but girly.

I had one little girl in my Sunday School class, who would arrive each Sunday in the most delicate dresses, complete with white gloves. And each Sunday she would be wrestling with the boys. Her appearance was such a contradiction in her actions and it would just crack me up.

So here is my little "princess" in all her glory, covered in mud. I have color Saturated Canary's "Nothing in my hands" image with Copics. I cut her with a SB die.

DP is Authentique's Classique and Pretty.

The challenge at Alphabet Challenge Blog is to use lace. I had some black lace in my stash to use. I placed it in the middle of a border cut with a MS punch. The vine swirl is CL. The flowers are HC and I used Worn Lipstick distress inks in the centers, then finished the flowers off with a black pearl pen.

My sentiment is hand written, then punched with SU punches.

Journal

Journal - Time for a new challenge at The Sweet Pea Stampers!!! Our challenge this time is Fairies. Sweet Pea Stamps have lots of Fairies, so go and take a peek. You won't be disappointed.

For my project, I have made a journal. I just finished with Camp Dorothy, which is a Christ centered program for children who are tornado survivors. The children in that camp needed journals, so we all made them on the first day of the camp. This one is mine.

Many of you may know that my town of Moore Oklahoma was hit by an F-5 tornado last year. Hitting 2 elementary school during school hours. My own grandson, was in the hallway with 7 children who did not survive.

My image is Sweet Peas Birdy Lobe by Regan Kubecek  in Rubber and digi. I have colored this sweet image with Copics.

I spent hours punching butterflies for the camp. I cut up a gemstone swirl and used them as the flight trail for my butterflies.

Tip** I cut my gemstone swirls a lot. They are so pricey to buy and you really don't need all of the swirl. It can overwhelm a card.

**Another Tip** Use Modge Podge sparingly on thin paper, so you don't get the pucker in the paper that I got. After doing 120 journals, several others and myself learned that from experience!

The DP is from a block, that I long ago lost the cover to, so I am unsure of who made the paper.

I added more butterflies and used the punch around the page set by MS and added more gemstones to it.

I used a rose ribbon along the side.

The kids enjoyed making the journals and with them decorated, they will keep hopefully look back at their notes. I had them write their scriptures on the various pages. I hope that it will give them comfort.

Jellyfish

Jellyfish - It is time for a new challenge at Creative Card Crew. Our challenge for this fortnight is sea/beach.

We are sponsored by Dies R Us and Aurora Wings.

I have used an image from Aurora Wings. Mitzi makes the lovest mermaids. The are haunting in a good way. The eyes just draw you in.

I have colored Jellyfish Dance with Copics. I added Stickles to the barnacles on her forehead and in her hair with Stickles.

My flowers are HC. I added Gala Glitz's teal chunky glass glitter. I added a stick pin and bow to the corner spray.

My papers are Bo Bunny's Enchanted Garden. I added more of the Glass Glitter to the corners.

Wise Times

Wise Times -  Today's card is my DT card for Seems a Little Sketchy. Our sketch challenge runs for 2 weeks and you can even go to our future sketch page and see what all of our sketches will be for the rest of 2014. How great is that!

Here is this fortnights sketch. It is not so pretty to look at, but it is a great sketch to use.

My DP is 75 Cents by Kaiser Craft. I like the soft teals in it.

The image is Robyn's Fetish, who is our sponsor this fortnight. I colored the owl with Copics and added Diamond Glaze to the glassed to make them shiny and to add texture.
Copic's used:
Feathers - E-30, 31, 33,34,35,37, 39
Feet, beak and bow tie - C-00, 1, 3 , 5, 7, 9
Cape, Cap and Glasses - BG-000, 10,  11, 34, 72, 75,78
Eyes - Y-32, 35, 38
Pencil - W-1, 5, 9  E-50, 51, 53, Y-11, 23, 26, R-30. 32

My little clip embellishment was in the paper pad. I love it when they include goodies in the paper pads!!

This tag was also in the pad and I added a twine bow to it.

Soccer

Soccer - It is time for a new challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity and are sponsored by Stamping All Day. Our challenge this week is Sports! Isn't that a fun challenge. Lately a lot of challenges have been masculine. While we tend to think in masculine terms when we think of sports, many girls also play sports. I think we tend to think of masculine, but let's face it, we don't have as many choices when we think of masculine cards.

My image is Kenny K's Anime Soccer. I colored him with Copic's. I did the background using a color wash. I love the technique. It is very quick and easy to do. I just color the back ground in, then use a water brush filled with colorless blender and soak the whole thing.

My DP is Fancy Pant's Little Sport. I won the twine. I am not real sure as to what it is used for. It is kink of waxy. It was a great color for this paper.

I punched the soccer balled from the DP and added a solid background off centered to the balls that were popped up.

Good Ol' Lazy Days of Summer

Good Ol' Lazy Days of Summer - I am thrilled to announce that I am now on the DT of Gruffies and Guests and this is my first DT card for them. I can't believe that I now have a good excuse to color all of those fun images that have been in my stash for a while uninked. Uninked? What a tragedy!

The Scribble & Scrap Shop

This challenge is
Sponsored by Scribble & Scrap. Prize: £15 voucher

Here is one of the House Mouse images all colored up with Copics. I added some fine lines of glitter to the petals. It camera doesn't show it well, but it is very pretty in real life. I cut the image with a SB die.

Doesn't our mousy friend look like he is having a grand time with the petals?

My DP is Cool Summer by Carta Bella. The sentiment block was in the paper pad.

My DP is Carta Bella's, Cool Summer. I finished off the card with 3 gemstones of different sizes.

Skating

Skating - We have a sketch challenge for you at Crafts 4 Eternity this week. I LOVE this sketch. So easy to follow and the card seemed to flow.

Our sponsor for this week is Crafts 4 Eternity

I don't know who to give credit to for this lovely image. It was a something that I pick up off when I first began working with Copics. I did not have a good filing system at that time. The trees were my own addition. As was the pearls.

I used a MS punch for the snowflakes.

I hand cut the banners. My DP is Blue Christmas by Recollections.

Ancient One

Ancient One - Time for a new challenge at The Sweet Pea Stampers!!! This fortnights challenge is masculine. Masculine cards can be a challenge but, Sweet Pea Stamps has some of my favorite for images for this challenge.

Using Joanna Schempp Ancient One in Digi and Rubber. I colored this old pirate with Copics and cut in some erregular angles. The image was just a blast to color. I took a class where we talked about how old skin is different from young skin. I am pleased with how the image came out.

This digi image is one of my favorites from Delicious Doodles. I can't tell you how many times I have used it. Sweet Pea used to have it in stamp form, but is no longer carrying it. Most children who come through my house, leave with it. My daughter takes in foster children, so we have lots of fresh kids to make it with. I have them tear it, then crumple it several times over. Then they work distress inks into it. Simple enough for even a 3 year old and they have quite the look of accomplishment on their faces when they are through. It becomes a treasure that they take with them when they leave.

DP is Teresa Collins, World Traveler. I thought the title of the paper was perfect for this old pirate. I finsihed the card off with 3 tiny green pearls.
