Katniss

Katniss - It is time for another fabulous sketch at Seems a Little Sketchy. Just take a look at this beauty!

I have flipped it up-side down, but this time I remembered to turn it right side up again. Yea me!

We are sponsored by.

My DP is K & Company Nature and Meadow. Both paper pads are by Susan Winget and are favorites of mine.

My image is Game On by Saturated Canary and features Katniss from the Hunger Games. I have seen the movie twice and read all three of the books.

I printed her on kraft cardstock and love how different the colors are on kraft verses white paper. She was colored with Copic's. I don't believe that I will use Stickles or the poster paint highlighter on the kraft again.

I cut the image with SU's Framelit using the off the edge method.

The pearl stray is from The Seasonal Shop at Hobby Lobby. I also used a feather to add a little texture. The vine is a MS punch. I used Walnut Stain distress ink.

I finished off the card with some pearls that I made using my Kiwi Viva Decore' pearl pen.

Come and join us at Seems a Little Sketchy for our fun sketch challenge.

Steampunk

Steampunk - I just made the team for Sunday Sketch and Stamp and I am super proud to be able to design with a fine group of ladies.

For my first challenge with them, there is a simple, yet cute sketch. Here is the sketch:
See, easy peasy!

We are sponsored by Sassy designs and they gave us an image to play with. I am using Steampunk Victoria. I would hate to cross her in a saloon in the old west. I bet she knows how to use that 6 shooter. LOL

My DP is Ella Blue by GCD Studios. I drooled over this paper pad for more than a year before I bought it. I would run my fingers crossed the flocked pages every time I went to Hobby Lobby and I am glad that I finally bought it.

Victoria is colored with Copic's and then cut with a SU framelit. I cut it off design to give it a bit of a different cut. The kraft cardstock was cut the normal way from the same die.

All papers were inked with Blue Jeans distress inks and I used some gears that I picked up in the jewelry section at Michaels. Aren't they perfect for this steam punk image? I finished the card off with some buttons.

I hope you join us at Sunday Sketch and Stamp and see what my new teammates have done.

Cowboy Stars

Cowboy Stars - Howdy!!!!!!!! Look at this sweet little guy from Bugaboo.

We are all about cards/projects for children this fortnight at Craft Your Days Away. So make something for that special little person in your life and join us!

For my card, I used Tim Holtz retro DP. I like them for male projects. I tore them to make them even more rugged. They were distressed with Walnut Stain distress inks. I embossed the cardstock with a star CB embossing folder. The stars are paperclips. I distress inked them a little, so that they would not be so bright.

The image is Bugaboo's BC Fence. I colored him with Copic's. The photo does not do justice to the image. The colors are much more brillant in real life.
The sentiment is from Inkadinkado.

Come join us at Craft Your Days Away in our challenge for the children.

Celebrate!

Celebrate! - Today at Creative Card Crew we are celebrating the use of ..... Ribbon! Not really a celebration, but it is so much fun to work with that I feel like celebrating!!!!

Ribbon is one of my favorite embellishments. It seems that 90 % of my projects have ribbon on them, but I have a secret to share, would you believe that I finished and photographed my card and then went to post on the team group and that was when I realized that I had not used ribbon!

I think I was distracked by the cute image from our sponsor The Paper Shelter. This image is called Cirque. They have a whole line of images that take you back to the circus. I love this little baton girl. I can just see her leading the parade as the circus comes to town.
She is colored with Copic's. I gave all of the blue/green some Stickles. Afterall the performers would all have some sparkle to catch the light. I also added a real feather to her hat. This was a bit tricky to do, but I love the results.

I used a beloved SB to to cut the image and mat. the banner is a Tim Holtz die. The sentiment is Hot Off the Press. The corner die is a CB.
My DP is Glitz Pack-Afternoon Muse. I have used and used this pack, because I love the muted colors so much. The star border is MS punch and I added tiny gemstones in the center of each star.

For my spray, I used a SB die to cut the yellow leaves. The stick pin is another that I recieved from the stick pin swap that I recently particapated in. Isn't it lovely? The flower is Recollections.

The forgotten bow was tied with my trusty Bow Easy.

I have another secret about this card. It is upside down on the card base, which means that I will be prying it off with Undo later tonight. LOL The image really is distrackingly cute.

Feathered Friends

Feathered Friends - Are you a freind to those with feather's? Have you left birdseed in a feeder? This challenge at Alphabet challenge Blog is all about those seed eating, featherly frocked creatures also know as birds!!

My DP is Heidi Grace Designs. It is double sided so I used both sides. My image is Tweet House by Doodle Pantry. One of my team mates also used this image. Her's is really different from mine, so hope over to Alphabet Challenge Blog and see what she did with it. Her's is really bright and colorful.

My image is printed on Neeha Solor white, then colored with Copic's.  I thought it would be really fun to use real feathers on it, so I bought a package of brightly colored spotted feathers.

The flower is Heartfelt Creations. I made it to the semi-finals for their DT and these are the left-overs from a lay-out that I had to mail in to them. I have not heard yet if I made the team, but my fingers are crossed. There stuff is so beautiful and I would love to design for them.

Ostrich

Ostrish - Look at this beauty!!! Isn't she fun?  It is time for another sketch at Seems a Little Sketchy and Jen designed this one.  I love all the elements in it.

We are sponsored by Squigglefly. They have lots of fun images.

My image is Squigglefly's Ostrich. I love her her purse and pearls. Ms. Ostrich was colored with Copic's and I added stickles to her purse, and the band and feathers on her hat. The image was cut with a SU framelit and inked with distress inks.

My DP is K & Companys Spring Blossom.
The pin is one that I recieved in a stick pin swap at CDAC. I accented it with a feather. The eggplant ribbon was tied using my Bow Easy. I don't know that I could tie a bow without it anymore. It makes life so much easier. LOL

Seems a Little Sketchy is a fortnightly challenge, so you have 2 weeks to play with the sketch and enter in our challenge.
Special thanks to Squigglefly for sponsoring this challenge!

Big Gun

Big Gun - It is time for another challenge at Craft Your Days Away. This fortnight we are sponsored by Sassy Designs. Sassy Designs gave us a few images to play with and you know that an Oklahoma girl like me would choose this cowgirl. Head over to Sassy Designs and get your cowgirl on!

Our challenge is to use metal. I actually used two metal pieces in my project. Can you find them both?
The first piece of metal is this cowboy boot charm. I put it on a jumpring and tied it into my gingham bow.

The second piece of metal is a brad in the gun grip. My gun was cut with my Cricut, using the Old West cartridge. I cut the gun image in two different grays, using my Gypsy to hide contour on most of the lines on the image to make my cylinder. I then shaped the cylinder. The gun grip section was embossed with my CB. The brad was then used as the screw to hold the "wood" grip in place. I like the gemstone swirl. I think it looks like smoke from the barrel of the gun.
The image is colored with Copic's and Stickles was added to the boots and hatband. My DP is K & Company's Julianne. The flowers are Heartfelt Creations stamps and cut with the cordinatored SB.

Viking Princess

Viking Princess - How do you like this little gal? Isn't she a cutie? I fell in love with her the moment I saw her and I could not resist using her.

Our challenge at Creative Card Crew was to use kraft, so I decided to try my hand at coloring on kraft. I must say that I like it. The colors react so differently to the paper.

Simon Says Stamp is our sponsor for this challenge and oh, my!!! I love to shop there. They have a huge selection of crafting supples. They have 14 pages of Prima alone. I love Prima's flowers. They are so pretty. Simon Says Stamp is also a great place to get Copic's.

My DP is K & Company's SW nature pad.

My flower is a mulberry flower that I ordered from Judy at Pizzazz Alpenty. I buy a lot of my stick pin supplies from there as well. I have become quite addicted to making stick pins. They can be so pretty with the light reflecting off them. The smaller white and peach flowers were in the wedding section at Michel's.

The little viking girl is the brain child of Krista Smith at Saturated Canary. Krista just did a big new release and Viki the Viking was one of them. She really caputured my heart.
Viki is colored with Copics. Viki was then cut with a SB die. The frame is another SB die. Image cut and DP was inked with Vintage Photo distress inks.
The ticket I won in a challenge and the butterfly was fussy cut from the K & Company DP.
Visit our sponsor Simon Says Stamp, then join our kraft challenge at Creative Card Crew.

Corset

Corset - It is time for another challenge at Alphabet Challenge Blog and this time we are on E. E is for ...... Embroidery!!!!! Which we are interpreting as stitching!!! Now isn't that a fun challenge!!!! I hope all of you will join us for some fun.
For my card, I used an old scrap of DP by The Paper Studio. I love this paper, but I have not seen it in quite a while. I have no idea how long I have had it.

The image is SU's Rue Des Fleurs. I used the corset image and the lace image also. Both were stamped with Staz-on black ink. On the corset I added some Raspberry Fizz Ultra Fine Flower Soft.Image was then cut with a SB. As was the black frame.

The lace pattern was stamped on pink CS, then fussy cut with scissors. This was then adhered to black CS and again fussy cut. The bow is dots and dashes and was tied with my Bow Easy.
I faux stitched around the DP with a black Sakura Gelly Roll. It has a little bit of sparkle to it.

Thanks for looking!!!

Ye Olde Mappe

Ye Olde Mappe - Not only did I have so much fun making this card, but my 7 year old grandson wanted to make his own treasure map from the same digi stamp. His is the big one!
This is the sketch for Seems a Little Sketchy challenge. I turned the sketch (I find that turning it helps me to visualize the sketch from different angles) and forgot to turn if back around before posting it. You can go to Seems a Little Sketchy to see it turned correctly.

My DP's are Tim Holtz, Retro Grunge. I like them for masculine cards and thought they would be great for an old treasure map.
The pirate ship is a Cuttle Kids die cut. I cut it in a couple of colors and trimmed up some of the pieces to layer them. My stark white feather was trimed and aged with distress inks.
My sentiment is Hot off the press and punched with a SU word window punch.
The image is from our sponsor Delicious Doodles. This is a great image for masculine projects. What I really enjoyed about it was that I put away my cherished Copics and worked with tearing and distress inks. You can see, even a 7 year old can have fun with it. You should have seen his eyes when I crumbled the image. LOL

This is a close up of Tyler's map. Didn't he do a great job! I think everyone with a boy should have this image to play with, so head over to our sponsor, Delicious Doodles and buy it for your boy!
