Reading with Gratitude

Reading with Gratitude -  I hope that everyone had a fabulous Christmas. All of my children and grandchildren were here and we had a wonderful time together.

Todays challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity is a recipe. I used 1 image/bow, 2 different colors of wire and 3 corner dies.

My image is Magazine Margie by  our sponsor, Sassy Studio Designs. She was actually a Freebie that I got a while back, but had never colored.

I colored Margie with Copics and can you believe that I did not use Sktickles? I know. Horror. LOL

My papers are Making Memories Just Chillin. I like the funky colors in this pad.

My corners are a SB die, that I added a gemstone to in each of 3 corners.

The flowers are Prima with another gemstone in the center. The leaf is also Prima. The wire was coiled around a paintbrush handle.

The bow was tied with my Bow Easy.

Blue Jay

Blue Jay - It is time for a new sketch at Seems a Little Sketchy. I must admit, that I quite like this sketch. It is so easy to do and yet so elegant. Our sponsor for this challenge is Whimsy Stamps.

My papers this time are MME's Moments. I just added navy card stock and buttons. Easy Peasy.

My image is Digi Doodles. I love this blue jay and had a wonderful time coloring him with my Copics.

My sentiment is Hot off the Press and I used SU's illuminate ink.

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year -  My canister is inspired by the song The Most Wonderful time of the year by the late Andy Williams.

My project is a recycled Cyrstal Light canister. I have made one of these for each of the adult males in my family. I have filled each of them with a telescoping mirror (perfect for looking under a car without having to bend down,) and candy.

My image is by Praire Fairy, who is our sponsor at One Stop Craft Challenge this week. Our challenge is to make something Christmas Song Inspired.

The image was colored with Copics and inked with Vintage Photo distress ink.

The top of the lid was colored with a permanet marker. The pom pom trim was added using Score Tape.

The top of the canister was trimed with a yarn that was also applyed using Score Tape. I used hemp cord to tie the charm to the yarn.

The rosetta was made with a Tim Holtz die and a large gemstone.

My designer paper is Afternoon Muse by Glitz  The trim at the bottom is a MS punch.

I used a different charm for each of the guys.

Pretty in Pink

Pretty in Pink - It was time for me to put away my Christmas papers and images and work with colors other than red and green. Not that I don't enjoy all the beauty of the Christmas season, because I do, I am just ready to expand my color range. My color range needs extending, I am just hoping not to expand my waist during this time of feasting. LOL

My image is by Crafty Sentiments and is colored with Copics. I added Stickles to several elements. Can you find them?

I then cut the image with a SB using the off the die method, then I added a ruffled ribbon around it. I bow to the bottom with a stick pin finished off the card.

My DP is Afternoon Muse by Glitz.

The challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity and it is everyone's favorite challenge this week.

So Koi

So Koi - At Creative Card Crew we are challenging every to create a card/project with the theme of Chinese New Year.

I for one, am very excited about this challenge. Having lived in Japan and South Korea, it was always such a big deal to my friends of the host nation, so it is something that I though would be fun to focus a challenge on something that those of us who live in the West might not think about.

My image is Koi Grouping, with the cordinating Water Lillies Grouping stamp, by Mostly Animals. It has been a while since I have done old fashion stamping and masking, with so many beautiful digi's out there, I just don't do it very often.

I stamped using Memento black ink and colored the images with Copics. I added some fine glitter on the water to give it so sparkle. I am a little disappointed with the way it photographed. The lights have faded the colors.

My papers are DCVW Far East pad. The center circle actually has a dragon on it, but the image covers most of it. The circle was cut with SB Grand Decorative Circles One. You can get a lot of SB Grands from our sponsor Scrapping Center.

Wreath

Wreath - I love this card and would you believe that it is the easiest that I have done this season?  It also started out as a mistake. We are sponsored by Fred, She Said and when I went to get my image, I mistakenly got the pre-colored images instead of the regular un-colored images. But what a blessing that mistake became. I was out-of-town last week and my daughter, who is a single mother, who takes in foster children, had 2 sick children for me to watch. Needless to say with all of that plus the business of the season, I would not have had time to color for this challenge. But Fred, She Said bailed me out!

This is 2 images, both pre-colored. The first is the wreath and then Winter Birds. I then just added the birds to where I wanted them on the wreath and printed it out on card stock.

After printing, I inked with Spun Sugar distress inks. Then the fun began, I used my Zutter Distrezz-it-all and distressed the edges. With the Zutter, it is a quick process.

My DP is DCWV Tis the Season pad. I inked and ran it through the distresser also. The stick pin I made using a variety of beads.

The puckered ribbon was achieved by placing a strip of score tape across my papers and randomly sticking the ribbon to it. The bow was tied using my Bow Easy.

That's it for me. I hope you will join our distressed challenge at One Stop Craft Challenge.

Winter White

White on White - The new challenge at Alphabet Challenge Blog is W for Winter White. You can not use any color at all on this one. Not even skin tones or hair color, so it was really a challenge for me.

My image is a Christmas tree (SU) that was heat embossed with SU dazzling diamonds embossing powder. I then fussy cut the image. I know it is hard to see.

The embossing folder is also SU.

The brads were made also using the Dazzling Diamonds embossing powder and plain office supply brads.

The bow was tied with my Bow Easy.

Bling

Bling  - The challenge for this week at Crafts 4 Eternity is BLING. Isn't that a great challenge?

My papers are unknown. I had just some scraps left and the company name was not on any of the pieces that I had left. The papers were inked with Tea Dye distress inks.

We are sponsored by The Digi Garden and they let me play with this Sweet Little elf named Twinkle. I think that name is the cutest for this little gal.

I colored Twinkle with Copics, then gave her hat and sash some Stickles. The Holly vine behind her is a CL die.

My sentiment is Inkadinkadoo. I stamped it with Memento ink and SU Illuminate, which you can barely see. I used Glitter Glass all around the edge of the card and added tiny gemstones on the points of the diamonds in the paper. I found these tiny gemstones at Pizzazz Aplenty.

I used some Baker's Twine under the large gemstones and tied a tiny bow with it also.

Plaid

Plaid - It is time for another challenge at Seems a Little Sketchy and this fortnight we are sponsored by Kenny K, the place for the best urban images around!

Just look at the great sketch that we have to use this time around. Does it seem side ways to you? Thats because I like to twist and turn my sketchs to help me visualize how it will look. I always forget to turn it back when I am finished. LOL

My DP is Karen Foster Sugerplum Plaid. I have had this paper so long, I don't even remember buying it.

My image is Kenny K's Santa Cookies. Isn't she a doll? I colored her with Copics and added liquid pearls to her fur.
I die cut the image and the "mat" with SB.

I used 2 different embossing folders on this one. The snowflake one is CB and the textile is SU.

I added 3 red gemstones to the bottom.

I  used a red gemstone charm and tied it with a thin sheer ribbon. The gold and red ribbon is tied with a Bow Easy.

That's it for me. I hope you like my card and will come and join our challenge at Seems A Little Sketchy.

Elfin Gift

Elfin Gift - It is time for another sketch challenge at Sunday Sketch and Stamp.  Here is the great sketch.
I must say that I think this is my favorite sketch out of all that we have done. It is so simple, yet carries a big punch, plus it gave me a perfect opportunity to use my new SB grands.

My DP is Me and My Big Ideas, Fantastic Christmas.

My image is The Digi Garden's Present Elf. The Digi Garden is our sponsor and they gave me this image to play with. I colored her with Copics, cut her with a SB, inked with Fired Brick distress inks and added 3 silver pearls.

The holly vine is CL. I tied the bow with my Bow Easy and added a stickpin. I use supplies from Judy at Pizzazz Aplenty for my stickpins. She has the best prices and even shipped overseas.

Pink Friends

Pink Friends - Todays challenge at One Stop Craft Challenge is Christmas Friends. We are sponsored by the talented Krista Smith of Saturated Canary. This image is Jules and was actually a Freebie that I got a while back, when Krista was offering it. If you follow her blog, she has Freebies from time to time.

I took a close-up of my image, but it was blurry and I will be coming home from a vacation as you read this and I did not have time to set up the light box again before I left.

My holly vine is MD holly die and the ornament shaker box is a Recollections sticker.

My DP is Recollections Jolly Holiday. I cut around the trees in the paper. I added cheese cloth under the image.

I stamped around the image with an Inkadinkadoo Peppermint candy image. Not to self, do not use stickles with distress inks.
